Every year there is a "surprise" death, one from your childhood perhaps who suddenly curls up after being out of the spotlight for a while or one who is incredibly active and just goes too soon. If they survive this year, my suggestions for the ones that make you go "Awww!!!" are:

Heinz Wolff (Egg Race);

Brian Cant (Play Away, etc.);

Jim Dale (Carry On Actor);

Derek Griffiths (still voicing ads in the UK, amigo, Kids' TV presenter);

Julia McKenzie (Fresh and French Fields);

Miriam Margolyes (almost anything you've ever seen).

You could add John Noakes (Blue Peter) to that list. I didn't realize until just now that he turned 80 last May.

You mean we could "Go With Noakes".

You can't judge a person's health or will to live based on their appearance/demeanour after they've spent an hour in a make-up room with Richard Osman.

Ok people that I think should be on Death List 2016:
1)Sir Nicholas Winton
2)Clare Hollingworth
3)Douglas Slocombe
4)Norman Lloyd
5)David Rockefeller
6)Charles H Townes
7)June Foray
8)Sheila Mercier
9)Alan Young
10)Jimmy Hill
11)Colin Dexter
12)Antony Booth
13)Mary Tyler Moore
15)Liz Dawn
16)Stephen Hawking
17)Muhammad Ali
18)Freddie Starr
19)Caroline Aherne
20)Paul Gascoigne

Good picks. Unfortunetely Charles Townes died few days ago, Maybe you can substitute him with I.M. Pei. He`s regarded as the most important living architect worldwide.

Would also be an option for DL 2016 and in some respects an equivalent successor from Oscar Niemeyer (DL candidate died 2013).

Here`s my DL (Top 50)---- 0/50:

Billy Graham, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Sir Nicolas Winton, Sam Simon, Jimmy Carter, Vera Lynn, Shimon Peres, Artur Fischer, Joao Havelange, Olivia de Havilland, Kirk Kerkorian, Walter Scheel, Dennis Healey, Muhammad Ali, Fidel Castro, Prince Philip, Helmut Schmidt, Herman Wouk, David Rockefeller, Edmond Henri Fischer, Henry Kissinger, Nancy Reagan, Doris Day, Richard von Weiszäcker, Kirk Douglas, Michele Morgan, Max Kruse, Jake Lamotta, Javier Perez, Jack Steinberger, Betty White, Patricia Morison, Stan Lee, Patrick McNee, John Glenn, Maureen O`Hara, Mary Carlisle, George Bush sen., Charles Aznavour, Stanley Donen, Conny Sawyer, Pierre Cardin, Giorgio Napolitano, BB King, Jerry Lewis, Al Molinaro, Ellen Dow, Christopher Lee, Valery Giscard Destaing

Is Pointless a popular show in Britain?  I caught a few episodes when I was there on holidays in 2013 and really liked it.  All I have seen since are a few episodes which have been posted on YouTube.  I seem to remember seeing that a DLer suggested that they had a Pointless trophy at home.

It's a popular show on 5 times a week ( 5.15-6.00) daily.
This is true my form is something odd,
But blaming me is blaming God;
Could I create myself anew
I would not fail in pleasing you.
