Not advocating another poll but we could have a Jimmy riddle in 2016

Who will piss off first next year: Hill, Greaves, Carter or Young?

An idea: Martin Shkreli, the hedge fund manager who specialises on buying the rights to old drugs and then raising the prices by several thousand percent.

Total misnoma of a publicity seeking buffoon.

Pills can still be bought today for a £ a pill from UK pharmacists.

Debatable because it's fairly natural behaviour for Howard Marks

In a move that can either be seen as brave or progressive but certainly not stupid ( :P) by the fellow DL browsers I am using this post to track my growing multitude of teams for next year betwen know and December 31st - I'll leave all picks considered for each one in place even after discounting them, given the absurd amount of competitions we now face I need a one-stop shop that isn't a unreadable notepad document or annoyingly slow openoffice document - alas.

How about Robert Wyatt ?

70 now, has given up music and hinted at health issues at the end of last year.

Plus most of his contemporaries are dead.

Someone who's never spoken about here, possibly because you might have assumed he was already dead because he's not been on TV for ages, is David Bellamy. Anyone know how the 82-year-old grapenut grappler is doing?

Nope, but I'd bet decent money on a woodland burial as his exit of choice

Mr. Chuck Williams, who founded the Williams-Sonoma company (cookware), is happy to now be able to place his upcoming obituary in the Over 100 thread now.

Alvin Toffler, author of Future Shock and famous as one of the first futureologists is 87 tomorrow. Wonder what he thinks about his own future at that age?

Denis Law will be 76 at the start of next year.

Haven't heard/saw him in a few years, but there is a radio prog on him next Friday and the clip I heard had him sounding a fair bit frailer than I would've thought.

Will listen to the whole thing.

An award winning media executive, Sam Maturo, has stage 4 larynx cancer. I've never heard of him, Google barely has, Wiki certainly hasn't, and he wont get any DDP qualifying obits at all. Mentioned solely as he's probably fecked, and he might sneak Deathrace points for someone.

How do you know? He doesn't have a Wikipedia page. And a BBC obit strongly depends on whether they can still be bothered with the thin pretense of being a non-Islamic broadcaster by the time he croaks, dus'nit?

If they give up the ghost some time in early 2016 like I predict, you can't really expect a write-up for a 'filthy kike' can ye.

(btw, quickly checked the article just to see if he was actually Jewish......... saw the name "Chaim", LO fuckin L)

PM of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, has prostate cancer.

Patients with a similar medical profile and treatment as Mr Lee have a cancer-specific survival rate of 99 per cent at 15 years, said the PMO, citing data from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in the United States.

Seems like a remote chance. I guess they might screen for prostate cancers and the vast majority of those are medically insignificant (early stage indolent cancers).

Might be a little more to this prostate cancer than meets the big brown eye. Yes this is from July, but her sabbatical ends in October, so maybe we will get an update.

"Ho Ching, chief executive officer of Temasek Holdings Pte, is extending her sabbatical. “Ho Ching has taken the option of extending her part-time sabbatical leave to six months, and will complete her sabbatical in October 2015. She will continue with her board duties and specific stewardship duties.” Ho (--and who doesn't like calling the Prime Minister's wife HO--), 62, began her sabbatical in April following the surgery in February of her husband, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Lee’s father, Lee Kuan Yew, who was Singapore’s first prime minister, died on March 23.

-----------------------------

Interesting she needs more 'leave' time, and it is conspicuously inconspicuous as to the reasons, other than they definitely relate to her husband's health.
