Wojciech Jaruzelski, former President of Poland and the last Communist leader of his country, is seriously ill with pneumonia and 'other complications'.

These are politicians, former PM's, and presidents that could have a place on next years list. They are the following...

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo - Obiang is suffering from terminal prostate cancer, amongst other illnesses, is reported to weigh as little as 50kg, and is said to be existing in agony.

Robert Mugabe - Rumored failing health\canidate of the past

Hosni Mubarak - Prostate Cancer\president of Egypt

Jorge Rafael Videla Redondo - Former president Argentina

Lee Kuan Yew\ first Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore\ 83 years old

Khamtai Siphandon\ Former president of Laos\ 82 years old

Wojciech Jaruzelski\ Former Polish PM\ 83 years old

Walter Scheel\ federal minister of economic cooperation and development\87 years old

Helmut Schmidt\ German politician\ 88 years old

Over four years on and all nine of Banshees Scream's bold predicitions remain obstinately still alive ;) . However General Jaruzelski is in hospital yet again with heart problems and might do well to see 2011, let alone 2012...

Now General Jaruzelski is back in hospital with pleurisy. It wont kill him, but these things just keep adding up.

Though, according to the Polish, it's not looking too hot for him.

Lech Walesa has paid a reconciliatory hospital visit to his old nemesis General Jaruzelski, who is evidently finding living with cancer and pneumonia a bit of a struggle. Given that both have been discussed on these forums has possibilities, I thought the photo below gives a pretty graphic illustration of their contrasting health fortunes.

Yup, Lech's definitely a goner!

"We're today's scrambled creatures, locked in tomorrow's double feature
Heaven's on the pillow, its silence competes with hell
It's a twenty-four hour service, guaranteed to make you tell
And the streets are full of press men
Bent on getting hung and buried
And the legendary curtains are drawn 'round Baby Bankrupt
Who sucks you while you're sleeping
It's the theatre of financiers
Count them, fifty 'round a table
White and dressed to kill."

Health update... :skull:

Perhaps the journalist interviewing him should have done the follow up question "when?"

A good line never dies
It just smells funny

Come on Spade... That's not really a befitting way to address anyone is it?
Jarulzelski's repressions were quite mild in many respects. As I remember no one was shot, disappeared or jailed for indeterminate amounts of time while he was leader.

Hahaha, "As I remember"… were you living in Poland during the martial law? No. Are you old enough to remember it? No. Come on, you sound like a 5-year-old… If you know nothing on the subject, why not first educate yourself before posting embarrassing rubbish? http://en.wikipedia....l_law_in_Poland
