Silvia Pinal turns 80 later this year and still in good health. So maybe someone most likely a few years down the line.

Is one of the last Star Survivors of Mexicos Golden Age of Cinema .

Most known to film buffs in the english speaking world for her roles in Luis Bunuels Viridiana,Simon Of The Desert and The Exterminating Angel.

http://en.wikipedia....iki/Machiko_Kyo

Still kicking at 87 and is active in Japanese theater so she seems a likely bet to make it 90+

Biggest roles are in Kurosawa's Rashomon and Mizoguchi's Ugestu. Had 1 english speaking role called The Teahouse of the August Moon opposite Marlon Brandon and Glenn Ford.

Quite a big news story is unfolding... The French-Jewish head of the International Monetary Fund, who is also a prospective presidential opponent to Sarkozy, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, has been arrested just before his flight home took off from NY. He had allegedly raped a hotel chambermaid an hour previously...

"The married former French finance minister is also considered a possible Socialist candidate for the presidency.

The BBC's Hugh Schofield, in Paris, says Mr Strauss-Kahn has been riding high in the polls and was seen as having a genuine chance of beating President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Martine Aubry, leader of France's Socialist Party, described news of his arrest as a "thunderbolt" which left her "astounded"."

Head of the IMF, a socialist? ;)

Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Mademoiselle Marine Le Pen must be grinning from ear to ear this morning since:

a.) her main political rival just destroyed himself ;)
b.) said rival is a Jew :P ;) :P

Here is an extract from an article:

"Far-right leader Marine Le Pen said her rival's presidential hopes had been crushed. Strauss-Kahn and Le Pen have led recent opinion polls ahead of conservative president Nicolas Sarkozy, even though he was yet to declare his candidacy.

"The case and the charges ... mark the end of his campaign and pre-campaign for the presidency and will most likely prompt the IMF to ask him to leave his post," National Front leader Le Pen told i-Tele television."

There is a small chance we could see the return of Vichy France. :o

Huw Ceredig, who played Reg Harries for 29 years in Pobol y Cwm, has died aged 69.

I'll leave it up to any Welshmen on this forum to decide if they are insulted or deeply gratified to be considered "foreign" by you Poms. :P

Meanwhile, Sif Ruud has rudely departed at the age of 95. She was the star of a number of Ingmar Bergman films including It Rains on Our Love, Wild Strawberries and The Magician, so this is a big loss for the world of non-English language cinema: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sif_Ruud
