Heard today that George Cooper - identical twin brother of Henry - died a few months ago. Don't recall seeing a post here. George was arguably the better boxer in the early days but injury stalled his career after which - as an identical twin - he was further held back because he was the same weight as Henry and prevented by the rules of boxing's governing bodies from fighting his own brother for titles.

Looks like the family reunion is on.

Henry Cooper dead at 76.

As was pointed out to me elsewhere, this means that only Maggie is left alive from Bjørge Lillelien's most famous piece of sports commentary.

How cruel and unjust.

He properly hurts Muhammad Ali but then, after a controversial corner incident, goes on to be beaten with a shocking cut. Forced to sell his Lonsdale belts after being caught up in the Lloyds of London crash. And now in his death, the lead story on the UK news is ripped from him after just a few hours when a super villain is taken out. Poor old Henry Cooper - RIP.

Cooper's death is on the front page of every UK newspaper this morning except the Guardian and the Independent. Why does the left hate Britain so much?

It's not like there is a curse of Bjørge Lillelien. Four of the eight were already dead when he said it.

Former WBC Super Featherweight Champion Genaro Hernandez, 42, has been diagnosed with "a rare form" of cancer. This boxing forum says he's suffering from stage four cancer of the head and neck.

How many stages are there? If there are five, he's on the ropes but if there are 10, well he might just go the distance.

He put up a brave fight, but the Grim Reaper has landed the killer punch.

Genaro Hernandez Dies at 45.

Well done to the 11 teams who kept the faith on the DDP. I think this means Wormer, He's A Dead etc, etc is now in second place.

Things fall apart. It's scientific

It's a bigger lead than that, with Ann McPherson getting the finger. The updated table will be up tonight...
