Might be worth keeping an eye on EVH for DL 2008. If nothing else, surely he and David Lee Roth will be at each other's throats after a few months on the road.

Eddie Van Halen is loaded. He treated his cancer illegally. It was caused by radiation in his studio, always kept a steel guitar pick in his mouth or some sh*t. How he treated it illegally i'm not sure, he claims to have created a laboratory to find out.

And on topic talking about rehab, I think it is a publicity stunt. Today it is common in holywood, if drinking leaves the weekends and follows up on monday and tuesday they check in. But it puts you in magazines.

Never sure where Amy Winehouse is concerned. She's obviously irresponsible to almost suicidal levels but - despite everything - you get the feeling she won't be allowed to totally self-destruct.

What does anyone else reckon?

She is only 23 and we (or at least I) don't know exactly what drugs etc she's into, so I doubt, unless she is suicidal, that she'll die in the near future. If she's as bad as the tabloids claim the alchol alone might start having some serious effects around, say, 30. If she had turned up for the Oxygen Festival a couple of weeks ago I could have given a live report, but sadly she did not. Not that I would have watched her bland jazz preformances even if she was sober, but she messed up the stage times and caused me to miss quite a few decent bands.

Last night a family friend said: “Amy has told her mum she is often suicidal and she knows she will die young."

It would be useful if she could tie it down to a calendar year - 2008 for instance? Perhaps she could be on her own 2008 death list.

It's all really spectacular etc etc, but she has a tour booked at the end of the year. There's a fairly large amount of money riding on these dates and the quotes in the paper are coming from someone well out of touch with reality. She'd be more likely to die if she was less famous and less stalked by the media. I reckon she'll see out this year.

Most people only make the news for checking in to rehab, but not good old Lilo.
