Edwin Edwards, 88, lovably corrupt former governor of Louisiana hospitalised with pneunomia. But they expect him to recover: http://news.yahoo.com/ex-louisiana-governor-edwin-edwards-hospitalized-pneumonia-060527223.html

Quite a phrase "lovably corrupt".

They do love him here in da bayou. He no sooner got out of federal prison than he was welcomed back with open arms and he wrote an autobiography that was an instant best seller, around these parts at least.

SC

http://www.edwinedwardsbooks.com And comments therein....

When born on the bayou, you can get away with anything, unless you are David Vitter

Watching Helmut Schmidt's funeral made me think of how many politicians of the 70s are still alive. So I decided to make a list of all living cabinet or cabinet rank members of "important" countries who were in a government that was elected before 1980. I've started with the USA, West Germany, UK, and France and list their functions (with the earliest one first), their name and year of birth, and some additional information that might be relevant for obits outside of their home country. I included the secretaries of state/undersecretaries for the UK, but not for the other countries, because of obit relevance. I'll probably do four more countries soon, something like Australia, Soviet Union, East Germany and Canada or Japan.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan diagnosed with aggressive cancer of the lymph nodes. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/reuters/article-3135140/Maryland-Gov-Hogan-says-diagnosed-cancer.html

More positive news for Larry as he says 95 per cent of his cancer is gone: http://washington.cbslocal.com/2015/08/18/gov-hogan-95-percent-cancer-gone/

In his first interview last week, he says medical scans found no trace of cancer in Hogan’s body after five months of aggressive treatment.

the former US national security advisor Sandy Berger has died at 70 http://www.politico.com/story/2015/12/sandy-berger-national-security-adviser-216344

isn´t Sandy a hooker´s name? At least a very funny one for a top-level politician!

Thanks for your idiocy Guesty. Sandy is a JEWISH name, you fucking dweeb. Tell Sandy Levin who was a Michigan senator forever that it's a hooker's name. Feel free to use your head for something other than a hatrack.
