It's about time Huntley got the crap kicked out of him.
I know one of the police officers who worked on the Soham case. He quit the force shortly afterwards as he was a complete wreck and didn't want to end up investigating another murder where children were involved

I thought Carr was to be given a new identity.

If anyone got wind of the Bulger murderers they'd be strung up from the nearest lampost.
So the taxpayers are footing the bill for Carr's stress?
It makes me feel a little bit better than I'm no longer paying tax in the UK

So if anyone reading these pages knew where Carr was, should they share their information?

A guest did post her address on this site, some time back.

It was swiftly deleted.

No, his girlfriend (who has given birth to his kid) isn't allowed to know who he really is.

There's been a Carr / Huntley thread before which was locked due to the high level of drive-by ranters. Do we (collectively...I'm not denying anyones free speech here!) think that Mr. H is genuinely at risk, or shall we merge and lock this thread?

Unless Huntly suffers another attack in prison, I think not much will come of it.
It's like with that attack on Sutcliffe where he lost an eye

As Huntley is never likely (I sincerely hope) to be on the official DeathList,

then I'd say lock the thread. This odious individual doesn't deserve the attention.

i think that's a fair summation. unless it's suicide, it's unlikely to be a fatal jail attack. he'll just linger at taxpayers expense, and as a human being isn't worthy even of this much attention

I've locked it for now, it came very close to being deleted. I'll leave that bit up to he admin gods [HCW]

The Ian Huntley thread is closed so I'll post this here.

He's been found unconscious in his cell after a suspected overdose.
There were three of us in the morgue so it was rather crowded

They should really lock up the medicine cabinets when he's around. Wonder if Betfair are taking wagers on Huntley vs. Hotel Balcony Leap Dad in first to pop his own clogs? I'll plump for Huntley - seems more determined

Hmmm

This'll be interesting re-opening this thread.

Worth noting that the tabloids today seemed united on one thing. He got the tablets easily because most of his near neighbours agree with him that he deserves to die. Such circumstances are not conducive to raising self-esteem. Wonder if he and Tony B Liar will both be gone by Christmas.

Maryport is a disappointment for which there is no cure, but the annual Deathrace thread hereabouts provides welcome distraction.

I don't feel much like re-opening the H & C topic.

That said, it has its qualities as ranter bait. I've the impression we need a few better ones. :dead:

We'll see how this one develops.

Why do we try to save these people? A convicted killer like Huntley who wants to get rid of himself should be given a few tabs and the choice to end it all. They're happy, few others care one way or the other, it saves a lot of house-keeping bills and the families of the victims don't have to suffer every time the killer features in the news. Maybe that's the point though, maybe forcing him to live is part of the punishment. That seems perverse.

I don't support the death penalty but keeping killers alive when they no longer want to live seems a waste of taxpayers' money. In the past it has allowed people like Myra Hindley, Ian Brady and the Kray Twins to find celebrity in jail. If any such people want to end their miserable lives at their own hands they should be free to do so.
Ring down the curtain, the farce is over
