"We're today's scrambled creatures, locked in tomorrow's double feature
Heaven's on the pillow, its silence competes with hell
It's a twenty-four hour service, guaranteed to make you tell
And the streets are full of press men
Bent on getting hung and buried
And the legendary curtains are drawn 'round Baby Bankrupt
Who sucks you while you're sleeping
It's the theatre of financiers
Count them, fifty 'round a table
White and dressed to kill."

David Bowie - We Are The Dead (1974)

Pop star and porn actress Andrea True, most famous for the hit 'More More More', has died apparently.

Her third album - almost impossible to track down and never released on CD - is one of the worst punk rock collections ever.

Maryport is a disappointment for which there is no cure, but the annual Deathrace thread hereabouts provides welcome distraction.

Damn. My maiden name happens to be R White, so inevitably used to get that bloody lemonade jingle sung at me all the time. But it was a good ad all the same. (I also used to get called Dr White, after the jamrag, but I don't recall a jingle for that one.)

Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, who was in prison pending a court case for murder, is now on the run after "the biggest prison breakout in Jamaica's history". One guard is reported dead with another two seriously injured.

Robert Dickey

a.k.a. the original "Bobby" from James and Bobby Purify, has died aged 72. Their biggest hit was the extremely irritating "I'm your Puppet" (apparently he didn't even like the song himself!). It got to no. 6 in the US in 1966, being re-recorded and scoring a no. 12 hit in the UK 10 years later, although by then Dickey had left the duo for health reasons and been replaced by a second "Bobby" (actually called Ben Moore).
Oh, Mickey! What's EGREGIOUS?!
