This assisted suicide was filmed and shown on "60 Minutes". His lawyer is asking for his release on health grounds, sounds like he's attempting a Biggs. Not to say that there might not be any merit to it, but I'd say he probably has the same chance of dying as anyone his age in prison. Rudolf Hess complained a lot in prison, and he lived into his nineties before committing "suicide." It has been some time since he last sat in the House of Lords.He will be on my DDP for 2006. Considering all the troubles the DUP have been in recently (like losing virtually all their MPs), I'm surprised he hasn't turned it in already. He'll be 72 in January; I know nothing of his state of health, but given the fact that the party he spent so long leading and running Canada with appears to be going down the toilet and is facing a vote of no confidence, who needs bad health? Elections predicted to take place in January just might push him over the edge. That, and all the marijuana he said he was going to start smoking upon leaving government. Well Gordon is the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons to everyone else) So he's the head Mormon honcho, this at the very least should bring in some interesting ranters.
