We've had a collection in the office, everyone put in a tenor!

Coats on.

Maryport is a disappointment for which there is no cure, but the annual Deathrace thread hereabouts provides welcome distraction.

It would be sad to see him go he still has so much to offer what with thaty terific voice. I still get chills listening to his rendition of O Holy Night each Christmas.

ermm.... he died today of pancreatic cancer..he should of been on the deathlist 2007 because pancreatic cancer would kill people because it is a deadly cancer

The old argument returns I see.
We have short time to stay,
Our night is slipping far away.
Caught up within bad memories,
Our growth seems certain to decay.

Given that he was ill last year with cancer, you really should have had him on the list this year.
Been using this site for ages casually, but I am a lurker

So according to various sources Luciano Pavarotti is pretty much done for.

They say he is unconscious and his kidney's have stopped working.

.. Sunny day tomorrow folks!

Probably not for his family, you asshole.

Not that I particularly think he was a saint - divorcing his wife at 65, remarrying and, as the DDP points out, having a daughter younger than her niece. Nothing to particularly warrant me wishing for his death and being happy about it though. Though I am in line for DDP and HDP points, so maybe I'll just shut up, but coming from your distorted perception of reality, comments like those seem much worse than they probably are.

Hmmm, on reflection, and after a quick read of the 2006 posts on this thread, this was a pretty poor miss by the DL Committee. Congrats to those in the DDP, CPDP, and anywhere else who picked him.

Another true "spirit of the DL" death. I pity the pall bearers.......

Once, in a fit, Pavarotti
Screamed 'Waiter, this biscuit's all spotty!!'
The waiter said 'Sir,
That's not spots that is fur,
For you're holding a mouse, not biscotti.'

There once was a tenor named Lou
Who sat in a bucket of glue.
When he finally broke free
He hit a high C
And I'd do the same, wouldn't you?

Coat on.

Pavarotti arrives at the Pearly Gates and hands a note to St Peter.

It's from the Pope.

"Here's that tenor I owe you."

The undertakers offered to use custom built fiat uno as a hearse
but pavs family insisted it had to be a NISSAN DORMA
This is true my form is something odd,
But blaming me is blaming God;
Could I create myself anew
I would not fail in pleasing you.

There once was a corpulent tenor
Who tucked in to his favourite Penne
For breakfast and tea
He scoffed pasta with glee
'Til he went off to join Ayrton Senna

***

Luciano loved singing in church
With his father he loved very murch
Wouldn't sing for Diana
Not even with a pianner
But Bocelli didn't leave him in the lurch

***

There once was a singer from Italy
With a big tum, and eye for a filly
He dumped his first wife
For an easier life
But his second could not find his willy

***

Luciano, Jose and Placido,
Were sipping wine in a gazebo
"I bet that tosser Bono
turns up when I'm a gonner"
said the fat man with the big libido

***

There once was a man, Pavarotti,
Who thought he could shag Merlene Ottey
The dirty old singer
Slipped her a finger
But was beaten there by Ramazotti

***

Bono sat down in his pew
Thinking "Bocelli, I can sing better than you
I'm a caring young fella
And I'm mates with Mandela"
But only The Edge thinks it's true

***

There once was a man from Modena
Who gobbled up pasta for dinner.
While a good career choice
For his lungs and his voice,
It gave him a miniscule weaner

word is they had to have an extra funeral for several of the coffin bearers who dropped dead of heart attacks. They really should have done some weight training to prepare for it...
I now feel ready to return to deathlist. My return will bring many hits,if the moderators let m e return

Vast fortune in dispute, this'll be more entertaining than his final tour, and probably a lot longer lasting.

What is Luciano Pavarotti's wife getting for Christmas this year?

A much smaller Turkey.
Pardon me but I got to run
The fact's uncommonly clear
I got to find who's now the number one
And why my angel eyes ain't here

Excuse me while I disappear
