Sir Cliff is being investigated over allegations of historic sex offences. A raid on his home took place in August 2014. Police have now confirmed they are receiving investigative support from the Crown Prosecution Service. It is understood this is standard practice in investigations of this nature. But the CPS is yet to be handed a police file on the probe that would allow prosecutors to decide whether to pursue charges against him. Sir Cliff has described the allegations as completely false. Police confirmed today the investigation into the allegations is still ongoing. A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: The investigation continues and we are now receiving investigative support from the Crown Prosecution Service. Police said in February 2015 their investigation had increased significantly in size since its inception and there was more than one allegation against him."
