Tim Johnson

Ok, I'll have a bit of that action. If I pray daily to the god of your choosing for a specified length of time and Senator Johnson is struck by lighting I'll be willing to accept the concept of an omnipotent and omniscient god. If however he dodges the thunderbolts, you must agree to walk the streets wearing a sandwich board proclaiming the non-existence of god for a week.

Deal?

Everyone was suprised. I guess the possibility of him getting struck by lightning is about one out of ten thousand, but maybe if a few of Deathlists atheists convert to prayer we might be struck with everlasting luck.

Back down Anubis, I never revealed my personal beliefs, i'm just saying test the concepts. Pray to somebody, why not. I'm not sure if anybody has ever heard of this, it is most famous by a Rolling Stones song, 'You don't always get what you want, you get what you need'

So Tim Johnson is in great health, he goes to Disney world and lives happily ever after. But a jewish clan finds out where Kurt Waldheim lives, they see him go for the morning paper and they do a drive by. When the car drives away half of his head is missing. It's horrible but I could guarentee it's the last Deathlist appearence he will ever make. So have faith in your mind, have love in your heart, and the best of life will be yours.

Actually, BS, it's "you can't always get what you want."

Same sh*t. But it is a good song. I've come to understand you know a thing or two about Rock N Roll.

Johnson was a 'January or nothing' so get used to looking at his living name all year long. Deathlist has had a slow start but I expect it to start kicking in soon.

I on the other hand am not so happy - but he won't be up for re-election until 2008. Hopefully a good republican can get rid of him if he isn't dead already. Although I have to admit after his stay in the hospital he doesn't look too bad - he could have stood to lose a good 50 lbs anyway. :P

You're a little young to be a right wing conservative. :P

That's what they told me three years ago :P. I still can't believe it has been nearly 3 years since I joined. It still seems like yesterday when Ronnie died - I'm pretty sure that's how I stumbled upon the DL.

Leave it up to a Republican to bring up Ronald Reagan first chance he gets. Trying desperately to live in the past.

Tim Johnson obviously turned out not to be a good DL choice. He has recovered sufficiently well enough that he will probably live at least several more years and might even continue his Senate career for at least one more term. If Deathlist needs to pick an American politician for 2008, consider one of these people.

1. Sargent Shriver, b. 1915, 1972 Democratic vice presidential candidate,, former ambassador, Peace Corps Director, and War on Poverty Director who suffers from Alzheimers Disease.

2. Robert McNamara b. 1916, U.S. Secretary of Defense from 1961-1968, key architect of the Vietnam War escalation and head of the World Bank from 1968-1981. I do not know anything about his current health status though.

3. Robert Byrd, b. 1917, U.S. Senator from West Virginia since 1959, longest serving member of Congress, earliest living senator. As president pro tempore of the U.S. Senate, Byrd is third in line of succession of the presidency and is increasingly in frail health.

4. Claiborne Pell, b. 1918 Democratic U.S. Senator from Rhode Island from 1961-1997, founded Pell Grants to help U.S. college students with financial aid. Pell todays suffers from advanced Parkinson's Disease.

5. Jesse Helms, b. 1921, Republican U.S. Senator from North Carolina from 1973-2003 and a leading conservative icon of the modern Christian right. He suffers from heart problems and dementia and resides in a nursing home.

Oh yes, Sir Creep is posting horseshit two-year old links to a thread abandoned 3 years ago to make a point.

While going in the Way-Back Machine and looking at forgotten threads in Forums, Sir Creep kept uttering 'goddammit' as he saw threD after thread after goddamn thread of individually named folks, ALL OF WHOM WERE QUITE DEAD (most known to him to be dead, but not all, and that's the rub).

How the hell is it Sir Creep cares more about the absolute necessity of exacting and precise maintenance of this DL site than the person(s) to who this daunting task has been given?

Would it kill someone (cuz I'd like to) to put the DEAD symbol after threads for people who are--oh, I don't know--DEAD?!???!

If it would and this is too much to ask, Sir Creep will happily take over the reigns from the lazy ass so responding.

In the meantime, Sen Tim Johnson lives on.

Sir Creep

And here I thought that there may be some actual news of note regarding Senator Johnson. Silly me.

3. Robert Byrd, b. 1917, d. 2010 U.S. Senator from West Virginia since 1959, longest serving member of Congress, earliest living senator. As president pro tempore of the U.S. Senate, Byrd is third in line of succession of the presidency and is increasingly in frail health.

4. Claiborne Pell, b. 1918 d. 2009 Democratic U.S. Senator from Rhode Island from 1961-1997, founded Pell Grants to help U.S. college students with financial aid. Pell todays suffers from advanced Parkinson's Disease.

Just to tie things up here, all of the above are now dead.

Oh, where to start?

As has been mentioned previously, the option to add tags to threads became available in 2011. If you are concerned about the existence of older threads without the 'Dead' prefix, you are more than welcome to trawl through the entire site and PM me the URLs of every single one of them (in one message please, not individually) and this "lazy ass" will endeavour to add the prefixes within a reasonable amount of time.

I would also like to extend this invitation to other members of this forum who have a keen sense of order, but aren't nearly as obnoxious about it as you.

P.S Referring to yourself in the third person as frequently as you do is a sure sign of a narcissistic personality disorder.
