Yeah,but we can usefully assume that some of the worst details are being held back until the repatriation of bodies. I expect before too long there'll be some fairly honest accounts from journos detailing the stench, exactly how much looting they saw, and the other bits and pieces that make this a real horror show. On top of that I'd imagine the full extent of satellite monitoring and a few other intelligence nuggets will be unleashed making it more obvious than it already is that Russian forces were involved in helping the rebels loyal to them. We haven't had a day since Thursday without some new revelation of horror, the stories today of the tampering with the wreckage would be stunning in the context of most air crashes. They're tame compared to what's gone before with this one.

I watched the footage on BBC News this evening of the deceased being brought back to the Netherlands and thought immediately that both Vlad the Invader and his rottweiler Borodai could learn a few lessons from the Dutch on how to handle the dearly departed.

It has to be condolences to any nation who had citizens on that plane, but particularly to the Dutch, and anyone who doesn't realise that the hand of that fuckwit Putin is there is in denial.

 

What I found almost frightening was the way that the pro-Russian, gun toting militia were bullying the inspectors sent to investigate the crash scene, and there is no doubt that any proper investigation of this tragedy is going to be futile, as apparently, the black box is already back in Mother Russia together with other vital parts,

 

Frightening that in just 4 years, Russia is hosting the next World Cup. I see nothing but problems ahead.

If the fuselage is blocking the stabilizer, why isn't the tip of the tail visible and why is it square-ended given that she's on an almost knife-edge?

 

I thought the number one prop was feathered at the time of posting but wasn't sure; later news reports seem to confirm this.

I looks like it's lost part of the tail piece. Was that on the take-off that it lost that part of the tail or did it clip a building on the climb out?
