Two very notable physicists of all things!

1. English physicist Henry 'Harry' Moseley, 100 years ago August 10.

"Moseley's outstanding contribution to the science of physics was the justification from physical laws of the previous empirical and chemical concept of the atomic number. This stemmed from his development of Moseley's law in X-ray spectra. Moseley's Law justified many concepts in chemistry by sorting the chemical elements of the periodic table of the elements in a logical order based on their physics."

2. 70 years ago Robert Hutchings Goddard (October 5, 1882 August 10, 1945) was an American engineer, professor, physicist, and inventor who is credited with creating and building the world's first liquid-fueled rocket

Singer-songwriter (his main genres were blues, soul and funk) and actor Isaac Hayes died on August 10, 2008. Coincidentally, he died just a day after his Soul Men co-star Bernie Mac. He was 65.

11 years ago today, Actor, Peter Woodthorpe died at the age of 72.

I knew he did the voice of Gollum in the animated version of Lord of The Rings, but I didn't realize until today that he also did the voiceover for the character of Pigsy in the TV series Monkey.

I think you're losing track of time just like I have recently. I can't even remember what happened to the last 10 years.

She died in 1910, so just 105 years ago.
