Death Star

Karl Malden

Recommended Posts

Again, I don't get it :sicktherm:

I doubt anybody gets it. I mean seriously, 'The Great Entertainer?' I might be entertaining but I certainly never labeled myself that term.

You know what's not funny Windsor? You. So know your role and shut your mouth.

Triple O, always feel free to post any information. I just thought it was crazy that like ten people were viewing this thread and they were all probably thinking the same thing until they read Just hackin' it up on my MacBook at the humble Coffee Fix in Studio City when Skag himself, KARL MALDEN comes in and gets himself a coffee and properly-pronounced croissant. Class act, that Malden.

Just to say I don't usually take sugar in my coffee.

Sorry... on reflection, it was a bit of a stupid post by myself. Lesson learnt.

OoO, not a stupid post at all.

It still means that he gets out and about by himself and doesn't rely on someone to fetch the food for him.

So even at 95 he's still active

I agree with Phantom, Ock. This is the kind of information that's helpful to serious death pools players. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Malden pays tribute to his dead pal Richard Widmark.

Apart from people he knows & loves dying, he seems lucid enough. But I wonder how long he will last if his wife passes away first?

In other Hollywood Heroes of Yore news.. Van Johnson is apparently in "good health" but is "completely deaf" and "cranky" according to one report about who's remaining after the recent losses of Widmark & Heston.

What with, a small glass of champagne or a full-on grunty shag?

Malden always has that look on his face that says I'd rather not be anywhere near any of you. Dou yo suppose this will change once he is demised?

A tremendous shame - I always enjoyed his movies - one of the last of a fast dwindling era. Many memories of the man but I always liked his turn in Cheyenne Autumn.

So, a sad day, not least because dear old Mollie Sugden has gone too, but 97 isn't a bad age.

Phew.. looks like a big update for the DDP tomorrow then!

Interesting to see that:

1) He was born in Gary, Indiana, just like Michael Jackson

2) He died exactly 5 years after his co-star in "On The Waterfront", Marlon Brando...

According to the LA Times article, he was born in Chicago, and only moved to Gary, Indiana, when 5.

Interestingly, I notice that his website is under construction, with an update due 2009. Wont be much to update now!

almost walked into him 20 yrs ago walking towards piccadilly circus - he was walking as if in awe and was enjoying the experience. it always struck me that even at an old age we can all see exciting new things

A sad day indeed, how much press will they get with all the Jackson crap? Not much I fear.
