Havelange still active in sports admin circles and still scoffing down those free lunches.

Talking of FIFA, I wouldn't mind Sepp Blatter pegging it.

What's the news on Havelange's health? He's not exactly a spring chicken, but his age can hardly be the reason for his number-4 spot, can it?

Blatter and Havelange arm in arm during a visit to the new South American Football Museum last week. A heart warming sight I'm sure you'll all agree...

On a serious note, he doesn't look too bad for a man of 92, and as TAFKAG said above, judging by his relatively frequent appearances at these social functions, his health would appear to be decent.

This thread is so incredibly slow and dull, it's almost like cricket.

So where is the old guy now? And has he said anything of note about all these envelopes stuffed with money?

I've found this...

Joao Havelange: "Blatter's criticism of envy"
Posted On Tuesday, May 31, 2011 By Russian Opinion.
According to the 95-year old Brazilian, the cause of all critics – envy. "Everything is so closely monitored for errors, because they themselves want to be in this chair. Why is constantly talking about the negative, when there are so many good. All the events taking place at a high level in every aspect – financial, technical and in matters of discipline. "

So at least he still holds opinions...

and youtube brings us this from Feb...

It looks to me like he may well live to see the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

What is the connection to Havelange?

There's been recent rumblings, mostly by Brian Glanville, connecting Havelange replacing Rous as FIFA boss in the 70s with the start of the decline and corruption that has led to recent events. Don't think that's what NAG was on about though.

Wont shed any tears of Mr Warners FIFA job though. Dreadful man.

So, wtf has this got to do with a deathlist forum? Is he dead?
This is true my form is something odd,
But blaming me is blaming God;
Could I create myself anew
I would not fail in pleasing you.
