Former Associated Press photojournalist Kim Chonkil, whose images captured South Korea's turbulent transition from dictatorship to democracy, has died. He was 89.  He died in New York on Thursday after fighting kidney and respiratory problems.

Kim covered South Korea for the AP for nearly 40 years until leaving the company in 1987, a period during which the country rose from the devastation of the 1950-53 Korean War into an Asian industrial power and a full-fledged democracy following a bloody struggle against dictatorship.

Tim Stiller, Montana-based “photographer” has died a day after his 59th birthday.

Was offering free portraits after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Was also considering him for Cup play, however unlikely of a qualifier.

Yet worthy of posting in a thread about photographers...

i really realiy REALLY want you to think about that one vis-a-vis the ultra-relaxed qualifications a person must meet for Cup play.

I am calm.  It’s 12:36am I got up to take one of my three pisses tonight.  I may as well have been sleepwalking I am so calm.  Hell, that was me ‘happy’ posting. You wouldn’t like me (as much as you do) if I was angry.
