Aha. So the guy who thinks the first dead guy is alive is probably dead.

Pakistan is politely asking the Mehsud tribe to hand over Hakimullah Mehsud. If he's alive .. and I think he is very much alive.

The Pakistani authorities are offering awards for his capture or for his annihilation. :D

Another US Drone attack in Northern Pakistan.

Target was reportedly Hakimullah Mehsud - Wonder if they (and me) got a hit. I doubt it.

May I commend you on your fine choice of a DDP pick!

I wonder if the attack took place on the 13th or 14th of the month?

I take it you have Mehsud too DDT? By what DP moniker do you go by?

Just read that the Pakistani Taliban are denying Mehsud was hit

They would do that wouldn't they. Maybe Wali-Ur-Rehman and Qari Hussain were in the compound at the same time giving me a treble hit.

Has anyone ever had 3 in one day.

I dream on.

I'm "The Living End", so you can probably guess why I'm taking a special interest in this one...

I believe Football Fan (Meet Your Maker) managed to get three hits in a day last year - Kennedy, Dunne and Al- Hakim.

It still isn't really clear if ol' Hakimullah Mehsud has been killed or not.

Quote

Ten people, most of them reportedly militants and their sympathisers were killed and seven others sustained injuries in the attack. A high-ranking government official said seven of the slain people were Uzbek militants. Wishing not to be named, he said Hakimullah always kept Uzbek guards with him for protection and there were strong indications he was present at this hideout at the time of the drone attack. “I can 80 per cent confirm that he is dead but I am waiting for more credible evidence,” claimed the official posted in the region. When reached by phone, Pakistan Army spokesman Maj-Gen Athar Abbas, who is also the director-general of Inter-Services Pubic Relations (ISPR), said none of the intelligence agencies had confirmed his death so far.

We'll just have to wait then. *Twiddles thumbs*.

The Times Of India says that Mehsud was injured in the attack. Possibility A: He has or\will die from his injuries. Possibility B: He won't die from his injuries. Possibility C: He's already dead and his status will remain unconfirmed. It was a very ballsy pick, DDT. I neglected to list him because I wasn't even sure if he was alive or not.

Thanks for this Banshee. Interesting developments.

I now have a strong feeling the Taliban are delaying the news of Mehsud's death.

Time for Wali-ur-Rehman to finally step up and take the reins (thus making him a No.1 Drone target)

Mods, I don't suppose anyone could do a spot of merging and make a thread for Hakimullah Mehsud and his friends? It might see a bit more action than the Herman Wouk thread.

These are always tricky situations to judge. Lots of conflicting accounts and hearsay.

I'll wait for official confirmation before awarding the points...

I suspected the US were going to go after Qari Hussain big time. He seems like one real nasty piece of work.

As TMIB says, where Taliban militants and their demise are concerned, there is plenty of hearsay, denials and frankly Bullsh*t to wade through before anything is written in tablets of stone.

Happy with Hussain but if Mehsud gets thrown in to the bargain then great. Rightly or wrongly, I won't feel guilty about celebrating these deaths either.

Well, I think they're suggesting that he was injured and then he died, before he was buried. I'm not sure anyone is suggesting he was buried alive. :P

I fear, they're suggesting he was not buried, neither dead nor alive!

How confusing... :P

When will the speculation end?

The speculation is growing further that Hakimullah is indeed dead.

I have a feeling the Taliban will confirm his demise in the future (not the near future i fear) when they have their house in order.

Not the house the drone missles hit because that is a pile of rubble with Haki underneath it. (fingers crossed).

Hard to know how to call this, but if the Taliban do admit he's dead, then I can count him in...

I'm assuming it would be an unnatural cause to boot!
