After months of arduous labour on the parts of Notapotato and Magere Hein, The Hartlepool Deadlypool is ready to accept entrants.

A cut above the usual deathpools, the Hartlepool Deadlypool distinguishes its self in that it requires the participants not only to predict the deaths of celebrities, but also the order in which the deaths will occur.

A fiendishly complex scoring system combined with a uniquely arbitrary and unpredictable team of administrators and some opaque and incomprehensible rules should all make for an exciting game in the course of the year.

So get your entries in! Closing date is the 31st of December. Probably.

Taking my chances with this question, but what do you have against a certain living wife of a deceased former president?

Not that I plan to use said person in any Dead Pool, just curious.

There's a lot to do at the end of the year.

I intend to enter the Derby Deadpool for the first time and regale the Deathlist on my top 50 for the year for their consideration. And now this one's got to be in order! My brain will hurt!
Derby Dead Pool showrunner...

"We're today's scrambled creatures, locked in tomorrow's double feature
Heaven's on the pillow, its silence competes with hell
It's a twenty-four hour service, guaranteed to make you tell
And the streets are full of press men
Bent on getting hung and buried
And the legendary curtains are drawn 'round Baby Bankrupt
Who sucks you while you're sleeping
It's the theatre of financiers
Count them, fifty 'round a table
White and dressed to kill."

I'm in, subject to approval from the venerated MH and NAP.
Pardon me but I got to run
The fact's uncommonly clear
I got to find who's now the number one
And why my angel eyes ain't here

Excuse me while I disappear

Am so excited. Have just submitted Cancer Ward for the HDP, a specialist team that had to have (or have had) cancer to qualify and Liz Taylor didn't even make the team. Sorry Liz, I have at least 10 before you although I might have put you in goal.

I've re-submitted my team of mostly obscure people.

And yes I know I spelled paediatrician wrongly, the shame burns like white phosphorus.

Have I really got to do it again? I plucked 10 names from thin air, literally the first I thought of. Most weren't even over 60, they were wishful, optimistic entries.

Never mind, I'll have another go tomorrow.

It's just an irrational prejudice dating back to the days of Weatherman90, Death List Observer and GracieJc8.

Thank you to everyone who has entered. I hope Godot gets out of the Funny Farm in time to resubmit his choices.

I'm going to enter as soon as I've thought up a name and a team - so probably just before midnight on 31st December. At least it will give me something to talk to elderly relatives about on New Years Eve - there's nothing like a good discussion about death with old people on the eve of a new year.
In my experience, yes, some guests have the same longing for towels and bedlinen as zombies have for human flesh.
