Is no-one having an outside bet on Simon le Bon* or Morten Harket (or whatever Mr. A-Ha! was called?)

* Esp. if he does that yacht race thing again, as mentioned previously

Bond Villains would be quite a good source - from memory:

Dr No - er...

Dr N O was played by Joseph Wiseman who was born in 1918 , I believe he's still around as IMDB have no death date mentioned

Nah, The remaining Beatles are all pretty healthy lately.

Second thought there's always George Best!

Lotte Lenya[/url] (one-time wife of Berthold Brecht.)

That must have been a happy little household....please tell me they never had children...

She was married to Kurt Weill not Berthold Brecht. Still probably not a very happy home, though. Was he the man who wrote "Oh show me the way to the next whisky bar?"

No, he didn't.

It's the opening line to "Alabama Song" which I believe was covered by the Doors (it suits Jim Morrison's voice pretty well) and by David Bowie on a 1980 single. I've found a webpage with the lyrics on but it doesn't attribute a writer.

Great - well I'd like to put him up for next year then - sounds just the right sort of age and quirky fame profile that DL needs

SHould this thread or post move to the 2006 candidates list? How does this work??

Oops, my mistake, it was Krazy Kurt not Barmy Bertie who married Ms. Lenya. Weill wrote the music and Brecht the lyrics to 'Alabama Song' being from "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny" (sic)

If McCartney is the next to go I'll personally treat the contributors to this thread to a round of Absinthe...

Here's to joining Linda.... :dead::dead:

I say his one legged wife has a chance of going

before him. :referee:

Nah, won't happen.

That's what I thought. We have a Tv in the office with the sound down. I thought he was doing his usual and going on about how much he loves Scotland whilst living abroad.

I thought I'd check out his age on wiki as he was looking a bit ancient, but it seems he is a lot worse than he looked!

Seems to be doing fine from what I can tell.

Say, did I ever tell you all the story about how I was once mistaken as Sean's long lost secret love child ;) ?(amazing what you learn when drunk in a bar at 4 a.m. ;) )

I hate this man.

He lives in America yet never shuts up about Scottish Independence.

He should try living here when they finally destroy us with independence. He'll be dead by that time I suppose.

Windsor Hate is a very strong word and I myself rarely use it.

Only perhaps when I hear about Brad Pitt or Nick Leshea. ;)

I don't hate him, just his dreadful acting.

Any accent you like, as long as it's Scottish.

They did the fake wikipedia death thing with Michael Eisner once which amused me for one reason or another. :sicktherm:
