    Pete Doherty

With all the illegal substances floating around in Pete's system, I wonder what sort of odds William Hill would give me on him being abducted ? I mean, someone somwhere must have considered placing Mr. Doherty inside a giant rizla, and then smoking him !

When you get right down to the heart of it, and here in lies the key, when you are truthfull with yourself, you will find that you are only one of the above. It sounds to me like you are agnostic, from what little you have said. Therfore you are not an atheist. Tell us whatever you like, but be true to yourself, and remember, turnips are good for you !

An atheist believes there is no God. An agnostic is not sure if God exists or not. To claim both standpoints to be yours is a contradiction in terms. Therefore they are mutally exclusive.

Life isn't about how long you get, but what you do with the time you have. Live for today i say, tomorrow never comes anyway.

Speaking as a lifelong atheist, ours is less about faith and more about belief. Unlike the doctrine of a faith which obliges the believer to accept the ordaned wisdom passed to them via, say a bible or a priest. We atheists base our beliefs on wisdom passed to us through science. As we all know, science does not have all the answers so therefore we take a leap of faith in order to reaffirm our beliefs. This invites the teapot argument. A man tells an astronmer that there is a porcelain teapot in orbit around the Sun. The teapot is so small and so distant, that even using his most powerfull telescope, the astronomer fails to see it. Does this mean the teapot is not there ? As an atheist, I don't require final confirmation on weather the teapot is there or not. I know enogh about the world in which I live in order to make an informed decision. I choose to take the final small step on faith, and say that like the teapot, God is not there. Here endeth the rant.

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Beloved tax dodging boffin, Arthur C. Clarke, hits 89 this December. I saw him interviewed in a recent Discovery Channel show and detected a distinct raspy quality in his voice. Flu & the elderly don't mix.

Pete Doherty at it again. Possession of drugs. The man needs a damn good spanking . Come to think of it, so do I.

    Margaret Thatcher

Having browsed these forums with both interest and amusement for some time, I found that I could be silent no longer. As this is my first post on these forums, hello all. Back on topic. I feel an almost personal interest in the inevitable demise of Margaret due to the painful influence that her politics had on my youth. Beginning with the withdrawl of free milk for school kids and climaxing with the dire un-employment statistic of 3 million + in 1989. I remember fondly how my calcium starved frame had to negotiate a truly appauling public transport system in order to reach the rear end of a very lengthy dole queue. Armed with the pittance that was my "Giro", I would hurry back to my crime ridden council estate, (mostly full of out of work miners) where I would set about the task of trying, not only to live on my pittance, but also pay a substantial Poll Tax bill. Ahh, happy days. Anyhow, despite being a little unerved by Margaret's aptitude for longevity, I know that time is marching on. Tick tock, tick tock.......
