Death Watch Beatle

Muhammad Ali

Recommended Posts

Keeping on topic, he's been deteriorating a lot this year, which surprised me. With the death of Richard Pryor, I've had to rethink my stance on younger people with long-lasting diseases. Might be a good pick for 2006, though I know he's disappointed us in the past.

I'd say he'll survive 2006, albeit with a low profile. He's been clean living most of his life - despite taking a shitload of punches to the head and body - and his cardiovascular system will keep the motor running long after the motor functions have gone to hell. 2007, late on, at the earliest I reckon.

Muhammad Ali as we know has parkinsons disease most likely

because he took way to many hits in the ring durning his boxing

days. It seems the disease is slowly taking him over but I agree

2006 may be a bit to early to include the boxing great. :P

Muhammad Ali to me is a Richard Pryor type pick since age wouldn't

qualify him as a DL canidate. With the addition of Pryor in the 2005

list it he did pay off with him being the 12th and final graduate of the year.

Ali may have some days left within him I say but the DL may never

know when luck comes blowin there way. :evil2:

I think Ali is even more likely than Pryor, since there have been lots of news reports recentely of Ali's declining health, whereas there were none for Pryor.

Then again, they did do a lot of tributes for him before he went. Poor bastard.

Parkinson's can take an age,

And this old boxing sage,

Who once beat Liston

Is gonna beat your listing,

He floats like a caterpiller,

Stings like a flea,

And maybe outta his tree

But he ain't yet ready for heaven,

I predict he'll fall in seven.

The great boxing Ali

Like him nobody can swing

He shall knock you off your feet

Knock you in and out of the ring

The great boxing Ali

They say the best of his time

They would call him "The Peoples Champion"

When he jabbed in his prime

The great boxing Ali

Kept his hands to his side

It twas his unique ways

Untill he became black eyed

The great boxing Ali

Devoloped parkinsons disease

Now he shiver's and shake's

From his head too his knees

The great boxing Ali

May soon have his bell ring

As he can no longer sway or swing

Ding Dong Ding!

Sometimes his speech is so slurred you can't hardly understand him.

Looks like Laila Ali can't hardly speak English proper.

orgasm in tar pits.

She's a natural with a one-liner, like the great Ali himself. I say she stays.

If anyone wants a good read. the Tao of Muhammad Ali is really good. Im studying it at college and found parts of it quite endearing. Its the biography of a man calleed Davis Miller but Ali (as you can see from the title) plays a huge part in Millers life. Enjoy!!!!!!!

If any DLers have kids around the age of 10-15, to whom you'd like to introduce the concepts of Taoism, (or, if you're a bit slow yourself  )"The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff is a good start.

to wit...

"Not like Pooh, the most effortless Bear we've ever seen."

"Just How do you do it, Pooh?"

"Do What?" asked Pooh.

"Become so Effortless."

"I don't do much of anything," he said.

"But all those things of yours get done."

"They just sort of happen," he said.

p.s. Muhammad Ali was a boxer. His daughter, Laila Ali, is a boxer. Her record currently stands at 22 wins, 0 losses, 19 knockouts. On January 31st, she will be awarded the WBC World Women's Boxing Champion's title in Cancun, Mexico.
