Ok its game on! Paul Bearer had a headline with over 12 words

Actually, the comment in brackets was a personal comment, not part of any headline. Feel free to remove that part of the headline.

Oh no, the replacement team is too late. Well, it'll do as a kind of reserve list then.

1 - Coalition to open inner cities for big game hunters to shoot homeless.

2 - Attenborough: "I will fight to save white wino!"

3 - Blue Peter appeal to fund new Glitter tour.

4 - Ringo and Macca to reform Beatles.

5 - Fans divided on new drum 'n' bass Beatle album.

6 - Saiff Gadaffi loses limbs and chunks of flesh in mystery attack.

7. Collection of random body parts sues Saiff for right to use passport.

8. International court to weigh two Gadaffis in passport dispute.

9. Late entry candidate with normal name has no hope in US election.

10. Losing Celeb Big Brother candidate in auto-erotic hotel door death.

11. Hotel door admits it was a mistake and promises not to sink so low again.

12. Over 80s have best sex say experts.

Subs bench

13. Quality of experts has tanked since care in the community started say public.

Good! Now I just need you to give me a link to the headline you wanna match with. Choose wisely. The more words that match up, the more points you get.

No. You have to pick the headline yourself, because that would be unfair if I picked them out. But the headline cannot be from a date before the game started.

Unfortunately the wording for my Chris Huhne headline was shite: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-16866127

I assumed he would be a hanger on-er, and would have to be pushed.

I would only get points for Chris, Huhne, and cabinet.

Do I get another 10 points for this one? 'Cruise ship'

And another 18 points for this. 'Gunman kills' 4, 'himself' at US spa

Well.........

#1... I think I might have to add a rule for the sake of the game. Because technical points like that make the game not as fun.

#2... Are you sure you want to submit that one right now? Because theres a lot more potential in that headline. There was recently a school shooting in Ohio.

1... The cruise ship did make the headlines after all.

2... yes! as you said in an earlier post, "So that would require me to part from the deathpool community. :( In that case, I'll either just end the competition right there or hand it off to someone else to take care of" so the game might end soon (unless you're thinking of going on a shooting spree?).

The game seems to have some flaws in it.

1) There needs to be a rule for what happens when a headline appears more than once. What happens if my headline reads "Former President of Djibouti dies" and two former Djiboutian heads of state die in one year?

2) If I get points for every word right, can't I just say "Obama" and then claim credit every time a headline with the word Obama appears? Granted it'd be a small score each time but it would add up quickly.

I dont graduate until June. And I dont even know what Im doing after school... You have plenty of time. You can save that headline and use it later if nothing better comes up. So last time... Are you sure you want to submit?

And here we have the cruise ship rule... I think we can all agree, for the enjoyability of the game to implement a rule to prevent technichality points. A headline must match at least two words. And those two words cannot describe each other as in an adjective on a noun or a first name on a last name. "Cruise ship" alone will not fly. Nor would "Meryl Streep" itself.

I'll grab all the points I can, after all, June is only 3 months away.

An update has been made. Paul Bearer and Handrejka have both doubled their scores. A shame for Handrejka who wouldve had a perfect headline had she not made a misspelling.
