    The Dead of 2024

Designer John Miles has died aged 92. Designed 'corporate identities' (logos to you and me) for clients like BT and the Post Office. The current Royal Mail identity uses the double-line lettering designed back in the early 70s.
  2. Its the 54th anniversary of Apollo 13's return to earth. As a kid, I was aware of it, never seen any of these TV broadcasts before (featuring James Burke, Patrick Moore & Cliff Michelmore amongst a few others who I don't recognise).

It was either going to be Yahoo or the Mail! Erskine's also a pick, probably be the same source if there's a QO in the offing.

Kenneth Cope is 93 today. He famously played Marty Hopkirk, the deceased one, in Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). He's not deceased though, Mike Pratt who played Jeff Randall (who wasn't deceased), is.

    So do I. Unfortunately I'm only 43.
  12. Just out of curiosity (knowing it'd probably be beyond my budget if it wasn't already sold out), I looked up ticket prices to see Frank Skinner at the theatre. There were a few available, at £32.96. Why 96p? Why not round it up to £33.00? It's not an isolated case either - the Freddie Mercury tribute tickets are from £29.36; Count Arthur Strong £27.42, Iain Stirling £26.87, plus many more. Who comes up with prices 9and why)?

    The Dead of 2024

Andrew Nichol, publisher friend of Alfred Wainwright, largely responsible for bringing Wainwright's walks to the public, has died aged 91. Photo, from the BBC, shows Mr. Nichol climbing to Innominate Tarn, last year. This is where Wainwright's ashes were scattered.
