Adrian Sweet!

and some others

The Borg Twins - all the way from Malta, identical twins Iggy & Tony, who wore numbers on their vests, so we could tell them apart.

'Crybaby' Jim Breaks - the nickname reflected his tendency to throw a tantrum.

Catweazle - yep, he nicked his image from the TV series.

Alan Kilby - a clean fighter but, in the ultimate gimmick, he was deaf.

'King Kong' Kirk - 'known all over Europe as the One-Man Riot Squad,' according to Kent Walton.

Kung Fu - yep, he nicked his image from the TV series.

Johnny Kwango - the king of the head-butt.

Masambula - the African witchdoctor.

'Ironfist' Clive Myers - later a champion arm-wrestler.

Kendo Nagasaki - the best of all the masked fighters, his specialist move was the Kamikaze Roll.

Billy Two-Rivers - a Native American whose speciality, unsurprisingly, was the Tomahawk Chop.

Having skimked through Mr Sweets' website, I notice with some alarm that he has turned his hand to painting.

Readers who are easily offended may wish to avert their eyes, as he is to the world of art what Art Garfunkel is to poetry...

Someone mentioned John Tenta as a possible wrestler candidate, if we want to keep this thread alive as one to discuss wrestlers. Otherwise, maybe it should be closed?

Yes, John "Earthquake" Tenta is fighting cancer and only has a 20% chance of survival.

I like those odds...

You look as if you need to be pounded by a wrestler. Pounded right into the ground.

I agree with Canadian Paul about keeping a forum open to discuss wrestlers. I also humbly suggest opening threads for each of the major public figures...Olympic athletes, boxers, footballers, golfers, noble laureates, scientists, rock star etc. so that each group can be examined catagory by catagory. I guess a thread for each separate profession or job category so long as interest, or the impending doom of many of its highly regarded and leading figures, warrents it.

professional wrestler Johnny Grunge aka Michael Durham dead at 39

Looks like the wrestlers are starting to go.

I still couldn't find a year of birth for Mick McManus, however on a profile site

They had this snippet "As of August 2004, Mick McManus is still alive and kicking in his eighties"

I saw an article a couple years ago about how wrestler's seemed to die with greater frequency than other performers.

Except possibly porn stars.

I think there should be just one thread only about spot. Both - American and UK.

Don't know much about the British sports but every now and then discussing

if Pete Rose should be let back into baseball or who and who isn't or steroids

can be a very interesting topic.

And can also be a very libelous topic, no doubt!

I haven't bothered getting a pay-per-view for a while, but I will with Wrestlemania because of Bret Hart's appearance at the Hall of Fame induction the night before.

since alot of wrestlers have been dying lately, I think we can expect a few more to head to that great big ring in the sky, so if any wrestlers die this is the thread to post it in, heres the latest dead wrestler

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2006/02/16/1446528.html

Former ECW and WCW tag team champion Johnny Grunge has passed away, according to a report on wrestlingobserver.com. Grunge, real name Mike Durham, was pronounced dead on arrival at an Atlanta area hospital this morning.

also, other wrestlers who mightmake their exit this year are jake the snake roberts and john tenta aka earthquake, keep an eye on those two

Like others have said, I like the odds of the Earthquake shuffling off this mortal coil.

Hopefully something crazy will happen with experimental drugs to make him famous enough in the UK.

Or, you know, anywhere.

By the way MH, you are my merging hero. No one merges like you.
