This is why I have decided against a career in the music or film industry(aside from having no musical or acting talent). Once you are old the vultures in your family fight over your money before you are even dead.

The lack of talent hasn't stopped others, you might want to rethink.

Will Barack Hussein Obama's socialist medical death panels have the final say in the 2013 DDP?

Depending on which part of the internet you're looking at, Ray is either going to be playing a gig in January or he's back in hospital again three days after leaving it for Thanksgiving.

Yeah, but both ends of that spectrum agree:

He's not well

He's still breathing

It's 24 days to the next round of dead pooling

I ain't counting my right-wing second-tier Opry entrants with a family of money-grabbing vultures until they've hatched.

Today's update comes from country DJ and "friend of the family" Bill Mack:

I was on the telephone with Janie Price (Mrs. Ray) for over an hour Sunday. Ray was re-admitted to a hospital last week after spending some precious time in his ranch home. The pancreatic cancer, as expected, is causing additional, serious issues, although he is now in "stable" condition --- after going through a "very tough week". Janie said Ray's main doctor will release a full report on his condition as soon as possible. They are not attempting to imply Ray is "recovering" from the cancer, but do prefer to get diversified opinions from several doctors who are serving Ray in order to give a complete and thorough report. All-in-all, our good pal is very ill with pancreatic cancer, and your prayers are so very much appreciated. Ray is well aware of your love and strong concern.

I'm holding off my DDP entry until after the 20th (and have four subs ready until that point), so little faith I have in him surviving the next 22 days.

Guessing he'll be number 1 in the DL if he holds on. Hope he does - held him off my DDP team this year

Yeah if there's one thing I learned from this whole Price saga is that if they're old and got a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, don't go long on them even if they claim remission.

Brian Lenehan, Steve Jobs... "remission" pancreatic cancer patients would have netted you some big points these past few years if you'd reupped them for the next year. Interesting to see if the big teams for 2014 have Ryan Buell onboard or not.

Intriguing isn't it?

If Price snuffs it, Spade has it in the bag. If he lives to next year, he's a haul of points but the impact is negated...

Not yet he doesn't. Perhaps someone else up there in the rankings has picked Price as well and has a youngish unique pick teetering on the brink...

Also, I believe the man to decide this year's DDP may be none other than General Wojciech Jaruzelski.

Hasn't it been a great competition this year? ;)

Indeed. His death would lead to general joy, at least at Magere Meanor.

Well, yes. 69 points, 9 hits, tied for 28th place, my best result in years. :-)

regards,

Hein

That's the defiance of a true winner...

However you are running out of time. If this were Rugby, you'd need a try, conversion and possibly a drop goal to nick it, with less than five minutes left on the clock...

I thought Jaruzelski was already in hospital for kidney failure

Statement from his son....

Dear Friends.

My Dad is very sick. He is in the East Texas Medical Center At Tyler, Texas. He has been in intensive care. He was admitted on Monday. I got to visit for a brief moment on the 22 of November at the ranch. I was invited back by my Father the next day but the gate was locked. My Dad is in final stages of pancreatic cancer and the general opinion is that he will not be going home. When I saw him the cancer seemed to have taken his strength away. Its very sad that Cancer is going to take his life and that there is no cure.

God Bless everyone for their prayers.

could you have wrote that any smaller? Feels like a really bad eye test. :P

On a serious note it looks like his death is going to the wire , I remember jade goody being in the final stages of cancer for a month well give or take 3 weeks.

The latest from Bill Mack is that he is "stable" but "definitely not improving".

And while a few weeks ago I thought two deaths (any two from Price, Mandela and Kalashnikov) would see me as a winner, the longer it gets on the more muddied things go. Jaruzelski and Billy Graham are both at death's door plus all it takes is a Wayne Osmond or a Jackie Selebi wildcard unique pick to drop and all the plans are thrown in the air.
