Amelia Boynton Robinson, centennarian civil rights icon, has been in hospital for a month after a stroke:

http://wsav.com/2015/08/18/civil-rights-icon-hospitalized-after-stroke-2/

Aah, another missed name for Shaun's deadpool.

she's not dead yet!!

Yes she is dead. http://www.wsfa.com/story/29883767/103-year-old-civil-rights-activist-amelia-boynton-dies

2 DDP teams awaiting - Daily Mail seems first: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-3211697/Civil-rights-activist-Amelia-Boynton-Robinson-dies-104.html

Seems like a good time for Grace Lee Boggs to check out then, join her comrade for the cause.

Oldest living person to have served in US Congress, 101-year old Ken Hechler, recovering in hospital after suffering internal bleeding and a seizure. Second hospitalization in the past few weeks too.

2nd oldest member Don Edwards died a week ago so it wouldn't surprise me if he went too .These things tend to happen at one time for some weird reason

Hmm, where to post...

Julia Almeria "Aunt Julia" Hydes dies at 106:

She apparently was a national treasure of the Cayman Islands and played the drums in the traditional Cayman Island style for a century. At the time of her death, she was also the oldest living inhabitant of the Cayman Islands. She also was the last living member of the "traditional Caymanian music fraternity".

The international skiing community lost a true original when Nelson Bennett died at home on Friday, Jan. 29. He was 101. Bennett was an iconic figure in the ski world, the one-time head of the U.S. Olympic alpine ski program, longtime manager at both the Sun Valley and White Pass ski resorts and a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.

Admittedly the pool of those currently usable in the RDP is much smaller, so helpfully culled those names here:

Barys Kit 6 April 1910

Lupita Tovar 27 July 1910

Reinhard Hardegen March 18 1913

Mary Carlisle 3 February 1914 (listed as 1912 in the NNDB)

Irwin Corey 29 July 1914

Ken Hechler 20 September 1914

Norman Lloyd 8 November 1914

Patricia Morison 19 March 1915

Piet de Jong 3 April 1915

Herman Wouk 27 May 1915

David Rockefeller 12 June 1915

Prince Mikasa 15 December 1915

10 additional names are due to turn 100 this year (deadpooling favs Kirk Douglas, Olivia de Havilland, and Joao Havelange are naturally all in the NNDB, as are Eric Bentley, Beverly Clearly, John Kundla, Victor Oristano, Mortimer M. Caplin, Bernard Lewis, and LeRoy T. Carlson)

Additionally, E. R. Braithwaite is listed as being born 27 June 1912 in the NNDB, but listed elsewhere as being born 1920. I've assumed the latter.

Here's a good site to use

http://www.genarians.com/

went into the 1926 section and I saw their picture for Valery Giscard d'Estaing. It makes him look like a must on the deathlist it's that bad.

The oldest celebs in my database are Zoltan Sarosy (chess player) and Zhou Youguang (father of Pinyin), both born 1906.

Other exciting centenarians include Bobbie Heine Miller (Wimbledon quarterfinalist in 1929), Tyrus Wong (one of the Bambi animators), Robert McCain (John's mum), and Jeremy Hutchison.

And there's the legendary Clare Hollingworth, of course.
