The Twin Dilemma is generally cnsidered to be the worst Doctor Who story, coming bottom of Doctor Who Magazine story polls in 1998 and 2014...

 

 

Never seen it, but it'd have to be something special to be worse than Resurrection of the Daleks. Or Love and Monsters.

 

I actually like Love & Monsters. It has the added advantage of having very little David Tennant in it.

Horns of Nimon has some good things going for it. There are probably worse stories. The Twin Dilemma, Paradise Towers for example but its failings are really 'old' Doctor Who problems. Studio bound & cheap and some actors not taking it too seriously.

That is wonderful. Mind you, Graham Crowden was a wonderful actor, and Nimons would be far duller if he'd played that role straight. The bit where he goes looking for the monster as if he's looking for his pet dog always makes me laugh.

Found a snippet in last months DWM which might be of interest David Fisher (b.1929) writer of a number of Tom Baker stories is living in a nursing home and is 'not in the best of health' but is obviously still lucid as this was taken from a review of a Myth Makers DVD with him as the subject.

 

With the passing of Anthony Read this looks like a really good theme team pick. However considering Jane Baker did not get required obit might be chancy.

Paul Bettany's father was Thane Bettany, a former dancer turned actor, who portrayed Tarak in the Doctor Who story State Of Decay. He was 86. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but way back in 1975 Gerry Anderson was involved in making a program which was to have been a pilot for another series until a 2nd season for Space:1999 was given the go-ahead called Into Infinity. It was show in the States as part of a juvenile afternoon series called NBC Special Treat as a rare sci-fi offering on these type of series which were common in the 1970's. Into Infinity deals with a

family on a starship fight initially meant to travel to a neighboring star system which runs into a number of unexpected problems. I still recall the show even today although I haven't seen it since it was first shown here. I don't think it's been issued ot any home video market, but others here might well be interested in checking ito this rather obscure Anderson effort.
