Goodness me, I thought Platt died years ago.

One thing though, Julie Newmar was born in 1933, not 1923. Mind, she's not been well lately.

Quite a decent survival rate, all things taken into account.

I have just had a bit of a look. Since you obviously like musicals, you will be interested to know that quite a few of the cast of French Can-Can (released in the same year) are also still alive but there do indeed seem to be more survivors than average for Seven Brides.

I am guessing there might be a lot of survivors still around from Japanese films of that era, given the noted longevity of the Japanese.

Quite a few cast members of the Big Sleep are still around as well, including Lauren Bacall, Dorothy Malone (who played the sexy, horny book store girl), Sonia Darrin, Tanis Chandler and Shep Houghton.

can't find an obit but according to Wikki, Matt Mattox is, at 92, the fourth to fall.

Here's the obit for Matt Mattox

Showing that the brides made the right choice, the townsmen have proved to have far less stamina. As far as I know only Earl Barton is left. He was certainly around for this Q&A session at a screening of the film last year. Fellow panellist Julie Newmar looked OK there, but so did Dante DiPaolo, and he went a year later.

Dancers-

Earl Barton 1941 -

Kelly Brown 1928–1981

Dante DiPaolo 1926–2013

Stuntmen-

George Robotham 1921–2007

Russell Saunders 1919–2001

Terry Wilson 1923–1999

Yeah right...after the incident at Kirk Douglas' thread, I don't trust guests any longer. I bet Marc is alive and well.

I have just joined this site to let you know that Norma Doggett was not born in 1922,but in 1925.I am in touch with her and she recently turned 90.To prove this the 1940 US census is available online, and that confirms her year of birth.

Thanks, I have fixed it at the top. By all means, tell Ms Doggett that she has the very dubious honour of appearing on this site! ;)

For those wondering which one was Ms Doggett, here she is back in her heyday, showing a bit of leg!

Interesting that a centenarian with three kids is only survived by a single grandchild. Gotta be somewhat rare.

I must be getting old seems like about 5 years ago Keel ....well.....keeled over, and here it's been a decade!

I haven't (nor will I) researched but are any of the remaining brides/brothers ones that were matrimonially linked in the movie?

Thanks for amending Norma';s year of birth.I am sure she would be delighted to know that she has not been forgotten, and would find this highly amusing.
