I saw threads for books ,movies etc but no computer games ,So i thought i would make one. Basically just say what games you are playing at the moment and ones you look forward to playing in the near future .

I'm currently playing the orange box and binary domain and looking forward to playing mass effect 3 soon too.

This can double as a computer game related news too didn't want to start a bunch of new threads.

Two months ago I started with Star Wars, The Old Republic, a World of Warcraft clone situated in the Star Wars universe, that's quite addictive. If you have

  • a Windows box with quite some oomph,
  • too much time on your hands,
  • some dough burning a hole in your pocket and
  • don't mind a string of corpses in your wake

this game may entertain you for quite some time.

Hein

<geek hat on> Ooh, I play a lot of computer games and have done since the days of the old ZX Spectrum in the 1980's.

1990's : Superfrog, Adamms Family, Monkey Island I and II, Quake II (which I finished in 2 weeks much to my ex's annoyance), The Settlers I, II ( I first played Settlers on The Amiga) and III, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Rayman, Jazz Jackrabbit, Age of Empires I II and III and many more.

2000's : Too many to mention. These days I tend to play games that I buy from Big Fish Games. They are more orientated towards puzzles and thinking things out, I was never big on war games, apart from Age of Empires, and I never got into WoW. I recently bought Rollercoaster Tycoon for Windows XP and it's just as good as I remember it.

This is a snapshot of my current desktop and it's icons, as you will see most say 'Play...', those are games and a fraction of what I own. Nice idea for a thread,

wow impressive your more of a hardcore gamer than i am and you have been playing longer than I have . Im really surprised so many play computer games I thought it would be me and maybe one or two other deathlisters . The first game I ever played was sonic 2 for the mega drive must of been 3 or 4 then and i remember begging my mum and dad to buy me resident evil for the playstation but they wouldn't because of the age rating well they were only pulling my leg and really bought me it for christmas haha and i have been hooked on games ever since.

I've been gaming on PCs and ZX Spectrums since the early 1980s, I must have played hundreds. Some of my favourites:

As you can see, few new addictions in the noughties.

couple of people have had trouble running it on windows 7. you can get it for i phone as an app if you have an i phone only 1.50p http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/manic-miner-zx-spectrum/id406164735?mt=8 . I do confess im not an expert on pc's i think there can be a way of getting it running though .

Have not really got in to many games since Elite on the BBC Micro, what a brilliant waste of time.... The junior Joscos play lots, ALL the time, but I have recently been smitten with Isle Of Tunes on the iPad.

I miss my old ZX Spectrum, few of my favourites on that were "Sherlock", "Invincible Island", "Hampstead", "Urban Upstart", "1984" and "Their Finest Hour"

I used to have "Lords of Midnight" on both the Spectrum and PC although it wasn't as playable on the PC.

Their Finest Hour was a great game to play, until I discovered a quick way to win which was to send 5 Spitfires against a squadron of Messerschmitts. That way you lose only one of two aircraft but take out most of their squadron each time.

I'm currently hooked on Lego Star Wars:- The Complete Saga. Once I can complete that, I'll be allowed to buy Lego Harry Potter:- Years 1-4

I'm currently waiting for Assassins' Creed 3. One son is working his way through all the current sports games and the other son is playing Mass Effect 3 when he's not on WoW.

Currently playing Medal of Honour Black Ops, but I am absolutely rubbish at it!

I adore the Grand Theft Auto series on PS2 & PS3, but have never got to 100% completion on any of them, due to lack of commitment.

Just purchased GTA Vice City for iPad for £2.99 (what a steal), paid £30 quid for that on PS2 when it 1st came out!

Just started playing some of the games I got for christmas off various friends and my cousin.

Deus ex human revolution and far cry 3 , both great games so far.

Good point LFN, had to stop all that, as the wife kept catching me!

What's the chances of a new thread entitled "Watched Any Quality Porn Recently?"

I only play one computer game. This is my pinnacle.

I know the FM researcher and conned him into putting me in the database in 2012. No matter how many times I started a new game I never found me in the actual game though

Champions of Europe 2031, you must be very confident of bagging a shirt sponsor for the 2032/33 season?

I have... have considered getting a Harrow Borough shirt with "Ludlam 9" on the back. I might cut my credit card up to stop me doing this.

That and a stadium with a capacity of higher than 12,000, yeah.

Assassins Creed 3. Son is playing Dishonored and something else I can't remember and hubby is probably playing something involving car racing or zombies.

I'm currently gunslinging my way through Red Dead Redemption and find myself quite good at being a cold blooded, selfish loner/drifter type.

Ohhhh to be a cowboy....instead of a bloody Sales Rep!!
