Lee Kerslake of Uriah Heep has bone and prostate cancer, but they managed to find some treatment that works for now:

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/lee-kerslake-cancer/

The article doesn't mention his battles with depression and addiction but Kerslake is a toughie, something I learned to my cost a few years back after squandering valuable dead pool squad places on him.

Bit late to the punch, but apparently Lee Kerslake's health has deteriorated in recent months. Though he's since claimed the prostate part of his cancer is doing better, but anyhow, there's an update of sorts.

Oh my. Major points for my Hare's Pool if he goes before the end of the year.

Awful news though. I wish him the best.

Aaaarrrggghhh!!!!

My goddamn Joker for 2017, just doing follow up and see that he's dead, Christmas Day. He was a questionable obit but that's how I'm rolling this year.

Alphonse Mouzon, a drummer from Charleston who reached the pinnacle of the late-20th century jazz and soul scene, died on Christmas Day after a struggle with neuroendocrine cancer. He was 68.

By the 1970s, he was performing with some of jazz music’s greatest artists: McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard and many others. He was briefly a member of the seminal fusion band Weather Report, and signed as a solo artist to Blue Note Records in 1972, according to the music site SoulTracks.

By the 1990s, Mouzon was playing other styles of music with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Carlos Santana. He appeared in the films “That Thing You Do,” “The Highlife,” “First Daughter” and “The Dukes.”

Lance d'Boyle, drummer and founding member of the 1980s British punk band Poison Girls, has died. Whilst lead vocalist, Vi Subversa, did receive an obituary upon her death last year, I doubt Lance d'Boyle will.

Jaki Liebezeit of Can, apparently, aged 78.

Shitty bollocks!

Those teams who picked Holger Czukay have chosen the wrong member of Can!

RIP: One of the greatest drummers of all time - a human drum machine!

Who picked Holger Czukay? Is he ill like?

And yes, beaten to it. Agree with those who say one of the best drummers of all time - but still basically an unknown figure amongst the general public who are not committed music fans.

Doubt we will see a BBC obit for Liebezeit - just too obscure for them. Maybe in the Guardian...

And while we're on the topic of Can, does anyone else think Czukay is basically a doppelganger for the late David Allen of Gong fame? Two very similar looking musicians there. And born in the same year as well. And both with a proclivity for making some crazy psychedelic sounding shit.

I don't like having to put my real name into those things, so I put my dog's name.

She is now Ritzy Muffmuncher
