I'm just taken aback by this. Just at random the other day I put the album he collaborated with Elvis Costello in my car and was listening to it just this morning on the way in to work.

Death Notice for Winfield Scott who has died at 95. http://www.tributes.com/obituary/show/Winfield-Scott-102970166

He co-wrote Return To Sender, as well as hits for Peggy Lee and Connie Francis.

"[He leaves behind]...Three great-grandchildren; Aminah, Alexa and Jihad."

Now I'm not sure what inspired the name Jihad, but there's a tough life in the works.

Hey MBK. I'm a gifted amateur he he. Good comeback though. I think Eve of Destruction is still quite an apt song, given the words over on the Terrorist thread at the mo.

Earl Solomon Burroughs, aka Jack Hammer, has reportedly died at the age of 90. http://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/soul-artists-sad-news/jack-hammer-rip-r3323/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Wrote the original Great Balls Of Fire, however that song didn't make it except for the title - though Hammer split the royalties by agreement.

He also performed with The Platters for a while.
