Him and Swayze should compete if they make 2009. Plea to the committee....Winehouse is a good pick...no ND senators.

It could be make or break for Seve as he undergoes all-day surgery after "suffering a brain haemorrhage". He has two tumours, one benign and one malignant, in a "very deep part" of the brain.

3rd time lucky for Seve and the surgeons, apparently.

Still, I expect he's still feeling a bit under par.

In this context, that familiar phrase looks even sillier than usual. Obviously it should be 'he's still feeling as if he's just signed for a 12 at the par 3 1st, having found the lake with his first 6 attempts to find the green'

Thing is, do we stick or twist.

It could be that the operation is a complete success and Seve recovers.

Or that it's a partial success and although he wont die inthe immediate future, he could be sucking food from a straw

for a bit.

Or it's delaying the enevitable...

My sister had a huge brain tumour removed last year, over the course of two very long ops within a week, followed by radio and chemo. My opinion is that it's delaying the inevitable. I hope I'm wrong.

Whether it returns on not, he's unlikely to survive three full-on brain invasions without some lingering damage and a few cognitive problems. The seniors tour is almost certainly over for Seve.

In other words, it'll probably handicap his handicap....

I agree. My sister has been left with memory loss and a complete change in personality, for the worse.

We may soon get to find out. Seve's out of Intensive Care.

Poor Steve Ballesteros is back in hospital

Still not out of the rough

Looking ever more likely to be on the DL for 2009.

I predict that Seve will not die in 2009 and may survive for a considerable time. But four brain operations are sure to have taken a massive toll on his cerebral function. The old Seve is possibly gone forever, the stricken wreck that is left may plod on for longer than some of us think.

It's not that there are any "good" brain tumours to have, but he has the wrong sort of tumour to provide us with instant death gratification IMO. It'll get him eventually, though - he's a safe long term investment for the DL.

He'll probably have died by tomorrow morning now I've posted this.
