Peggy Ryan had pegged out, apparently. To quote the LA Times:

"Peggy Ryan, the tap-dancing partner to Donald O'Connor in more than a dozen film musicals in the 1940s and an actress who served as Jack Lord's secretary on television's "Hawaii Five-O," has died. She was 80"

Donald himself ducked out in 2003. The partnership can now be recreated!

Speaking of which, how is ol' Doris herself doing nowadays ?

She seems to be enjoying her retirement from the entertainment scene. At the moment she is an animal rights activist and owns a villa called the "Cypress Inn" in Carmel, California.

Although she is 80, she does not look like she will be kicking the bucket anytime soon.

It could turn out to be a bad year for veteran broadcasters.

Alan "Fluff" Freeman, David Jacobs and Brian Matthews are probably stocking up on the multi-vitamins as we speak.

Though the idea is right, all the names are wrong ... !
