Bob Hawke expresses his fears over the health of Gough Whitlam

Mr Hawke said Mr Whitlam, 95, was frail and in poor health and would be "devastated" at losing his wife of almost 70 years. Mrs Whitlam, 92, died on Saturday in a Sydney hospital with her children at her bedside

AFL legend and DDP pick Jim Stynes, who was given 2 weeks to live in 2009, is gravely ill again. This time it really doesn't look good for him, but don't discount the possibility of another heroic comeback.

I still wonder if he'll get that UK obit when he goes  The DDP leaderboard will look a bit different he gets one.

I for one hope he does, otherwise that Drop 40 is going to look embarrassing for having a death but not technically a hit...

Considering I dropped him from my team at the last second, part of me hopes he doesn't get an obituary.

His death's a trending topic in the UK plus he's getting RIP tweets from guys like Shane Warne and Lance Armstrong. He'll get a Daily Mail Online obit within two hours.

If he does, 'ary Kiri and The Living End go joint top of the DDP.

I hate to be pedantic but that's from the IRISH Sun.

But it's the UK Sun's webpage.

Its a moot point now that everyone and his dog has published obits but I see the rules have disappeared from the DDP site, so I can't challenge your reasoning.

It seems to be a good day for cornering lunatic gunmen. As well as the Toulouse nutter, Australia's most wanted fugitive, Malcolm Naden, was finally apprehended after seven years on the run and several pot shots at police in recent months. He has now collapsed and been rushed to hospital.

R.I.P Jim

You put up a brave fight. :hatsoff:

Now Akermanis has completely lost the plot. What amazing tact. :(

Envy breeds contempt.

I would imagine Aker, the lightning rod that he is, probably did experience an angry Jim Stynes at some point - they probably couldn't stand each other.

Not gonna lie, the lack of a UK obit for Margaret Whitlam doesn't make me too confident for Hazel Hawke's chances of getting one when she carks.
