I have just been reading about William Daniels. Not exactly a household name but...

1. He had a role in The Graduate as Dustin Hoffman's dad

2. He was the voice of KITT in Knight Rider

3. He is the former president of the Screen Actors' Guil

4. He is aged 90.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Daniels

In the Usa he is well known to 80's Babies due to his role as the School Principal Mr. Feeney, on Teen Sitcom Boy Meets World in the 90's.

I'd have thought he was best known for his role in St Elsewhere.

Neat suggestion. Obit-wise, being voice of KITT is enough.

Well, not really*. His biological mum was Diana Dill (died aged 92 in 2015), and he previously had stage IV tongue cancer (which might indicate that he inherited some bad genes from her mum, who died from cancer [and was a breast cancer survivor]). That being said, he is past the 5 year mark (in remission) now, so he might be considered cured.

*Of course, his stepmum (Kirk's current wife) is still living, but that is totally irrelevant here.

Agree.  Good suggestion by Davy and I'll add William Daniels to my data base.  He had a significant role in St. Elsewhere too.

Really surprised there isn't an Our Gang/Little Rascals thread....wasn't that a 'thing' in the U.K. (if not you really missed out), but with only a few surviving, no reason to start one.

Leonard Landy, best known for his work as one of the Little Rascals on "Our Gang,” died Wednesday. He was 84.

Often recognized for his freckled face and big ears, Landy appeared in 21 “Our Gang” comedy shorts, debuting in “Feed ‘Em and Weep” in 1938 and culminating with “Fightin’ Fools” in 1941.

James Franco opens up about the moment he realized he was battling depression. In a new interview with OUT magazine, the actor, 39, explained that his career choice in combination with his “very addictive” personality led to feelings of isolation.

Only posting as a future heads up, as we've seen some not-so-fabulous endings for a few notables that battled depression.  Not sure why but I kinda like Franco and hope he keeps it all in check.

For a depressed guy he seems to be very active, directing 8 movies in the past two years and acting in two dozens.

From the 2017 list it seems like Valarie Harper might be next. Her last days have even been mentioned in some Norwegian gossip magazines. Then again, maybe not.

I'm bored and I don't want to study about the Cold War anymore at the moment so I'll make this list.

All of these people are over 85 years old and might be getting close to meeting their maker.

Art Linkletter - born 1912
Joey Bishop - born 1918
John Forsythe - born 1918
Celeste Holm - born 1919
Robert Wise - born 1914
Michelangelo Antonioni - born 1912
Lewis Gilbert - born 1920

Ok, better get back to studying now.

Well, Lewis Gilbert being still alive 12 years later is astounding! By the way Morgan Woodward turns 92 today :birthday:
