Stairway To Heaven/ Highway To Hell

Recommended Posts

Since the pop thread is too mellow for these guys, I figured I'd start a heavy metal/hard rock thread.

Am I to guess that this site automatically changes anything after a slash in a headline to lower case? It did the same with me earlier.

Not too sure about that. I put in a space between the 'slash' and the next letter and it worked.

Er, can the admin move my recent (and all the subsequent posts about Axl Rose) from the pop thread to this thread, plox? Just to start this thread off so to speak.

Is Slash dead ? No more Guns-N-Roses ?

I'll get me coat then.

Slash hasn't been in G'n'R since 1996

If Axl hasn't had a Slash since 1996, no wonder he's in such terrible shape.

But still more rock than pop, surely? Christ, Lewd_Squirrel. It's bad enough with some of the "specialist" threads here, having to fish through them to find the "appropriate" thread to post updates in. I almost opposed this thread based on that. Give him a break will ya?

We do have our fair share of music threads, don't we?

Apart from myriad individuals and bands there are (deep breath) folk, country, pop stars, opera, jazz, blues, hiphop, reggae, Eurovision, songwriters, psychedelic warriors, minimalists, drummers, rock/metal, gigs in the sky, festivals, best gigs, funeral and general music (aka Jacques Brel and his jelly jewellery). *

Have I missed any?

Never heard of Mikhail Gorshenev before, but now he's dead:

Wasn't he the bloke with a big birthmark on his head?

Supposedly Dave Brockie aka Oderus Urungus, the lead singer of the band Gwar, has died.

And according to Wikipedia it's a "Body found on this date" job...

Nice.

He appeared as an intergalactic humanoid barbarian with devil horns and a meaty-looking face, and always carried around a long sword named "Unt Lick". His only true companion was his Cuttle fish, though lost for a short period it has returned to its true resting place

Oderus Urungus R.I.P :(

I was at Wembley on Saturday for the latest NFL game and Def Leppard were doing the pre-game show. I noticed that Vivian Campbell wasn't performing with the band - apparently his lymphoma, which was initially in remission last year, came back earlier this year and although he quickly returned to being in remission, he's now having a stem cell transplant and has taken a break from the band. One to keep an eye on

Nah, that was Michial Gorbachev - glasnost era Russian premier - who still breathes and gets mentioned hereabouts every now and then.

I think they should split up and NEVER MAKE ANOTHER RECORD out of respect for him.
