Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

George Mcgovern the guy who ran for president against richard nixon in 1972 is 90 in july. Think he would be a good shout for the deathlist in 2013 he will turn 91 half way though 2013 aswell.

George McGovern has been mentioned a few times in the Political Frailty thread.

He was hospitalized twice last year, once for exhaustion and another time for falling and hitting his head prior to a television interview.

He still gets around, but I suspect he'll end up falling, breaking his hip and dying from complications of an operation.

Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa, who has been suggested on DL several times over the years due to his past diagnosis of esophogael cancer, is to take a year off to concentrate on overcoming his continuing health problems.

South Korean cult leader Sun Myung Moon (Reverend Moon) was on the news here last night, doing one of his mass weddings (yes, he is still at it!) He seemed in good health but the report mentioned he is 91 now so probably someone just to keep an eye on at this stage.

Heart problems, colon cancer, prostate cancer, pneumonia, diabetes: could it soon be All Over Now for Bobby Womack?

I am going to suggest Rodney Bewes.

A few weeks back there was an episode of Masterchef where the contestents made afternoon tea for some veterens of TV comedy. There were a number of people who had featured on this site such as Frank Thornton as well as Nicholas Smith (Mr Rumbold), Lynda Baron, Wendy Craig and Jeffrey Holland but it took me several minutes to recognise Rodney Bewes and even my wife commented that she expected to hear of his death shortly.

Bearing in mind I think the series was filmed at the end of last year I am not even sure if he will make 2013.

I tried to add a photo but I am having to post as a guest as my account has not yet been validated.

I have already made this comment in the Basil Brush thread but thought it was a bit obscure!

Is there a clip of that anywhere?

He certainly hasn't worn well, but was spry enough to jump on an unfortunate female journalist a couple of years back. Bet she was glad she had a photographer with her.

Rodney Bewes - aka Bob Ferris in the BBC sitcom - has launched himself across me with no warning and a loud 'Wha-hey!' .....

.... he's 72 years old, very pink-cheeked from lunch and is now lying heavily on top of me and nuzzling my neck with extremely wet lips.

:puke:

For which I am genuinely grateful

Apparently he (Rodney Bewes) has been in dispute with George Harrison's widow about fences and boundaries - can take a toll that sort of thing!

Just thinking with Sir Peter Blake's new design for Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I was wondering who was still alive from the original cover.

So far only ones I can think of are

Bobby Breen (b. 1927)

Shirley Temple (b. 1928)

Bob Dylan (b. 1941)

Dion (b. 1939)

Larry Bell (b 1939)

Paul McCartney (b. 1942)

Ringo Starr (b. 1940)

Personally I thought Bobby Breen died years ago.

I was watching Doyle Brunson playing poker and it got me thinking about other poker players who are of an age where they could be on the brink of death. Doing little exercise and eating crappy casino food can't be good for you Some other names I came up with are :-

Amarillo Slim AKA Thomas Austin Preston, Jr., born 1928

Tom McEvoy born 1944

Berry Johnston born 1935

Crandell Addington born 1938

Perry Green born 1936

Dewey Tomko born 1946

T. J. Cloutier born 1939

Lyle Berman born 1941

Jack Binion born 1937

Billy Baxter born 1940

Henry Orenstein born 1925

Dan Harrington born 1945

Mike Sexton born 1947

Brent Musburger born 1939

Dick Van Patten born 1928

Gabe Kaplan born 1945

Jerry Buss born 1934

Can I put my name forward. I know I am not famous but I am suffering from a heavy dose of Man Flu. This is the worst kind of flu you can get. Its definitely touch and go if I will survive from this vile disease

Morgan freeman

And Dick Clarke

and your reason why these people should go on the list are ?

Well I am 1/5 now. No real reason for them being on my list. Just shooting in the dark. I should make a profile.

Try Clifton James, 91 this year.

Not that they will listen.
