Ricky "Tell Laura I Love Her" Valance.

Yeah, I always get him mixed up with Richie Valens, or however you spell it.

It'll be fatal. I used to think DDT had got points on Richie Havens (Woodstock guy) in the DDP in 2010 for ages. Then I realised it was Richie Hayward, drummer for Little Feat, and Woodstock guy was still alive. About a month after realising this, Havens died.

FFS - can't be bothered sourcing and posting pictures here but...

The pair were even colour coded for easy reference!

On a similar note, one newspaper - I forget which - ran an obit for Carl Davis, the World at War composer, when the music producer died in 2012. Only one of them was a white New York guy, and he's still breathing.

There was an Abe Vigoda death hoax for years

So now we have a living one!

Wow this was a stunner.
Whilst researching other crap, I came across Ann Turner Cook (91) , the original Gerber baby food baby!

SC
(Edit: Not 'original' but rather always.  " The drawing of Ann Turner Cook has been used on all Gerber baby food packaging since.")

She appeared as a guest on some talk show recently. I forget which show it was.

I am really surprised, but happy as he was a likeable character, George A Cooper is still alive.  He played janny Mr Griffiths in Grange Hill from 1985 and left in 1992 at the age of 67.  He is now 92 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_A._Cooper

This guy -

Definitely looks Deathlistable to me!

Yeah, he was in  A Night To Remember too.  Not too many cast members left now.

There are so many good picks like him that probably won't get chosen because they're just that bit too obscure for the main list.

Let myself down badly at work today after being asked - on the basis of following celebrity deaths - whether Freddy Parrot Face Davis was still a going concern. Having expressed the opinion that he surely went a few years back I Googled the subject and discovered I was wrong and he's 81 this year.

thwaites.gif

Q/O obit a shoo-in as and when. His official site lists only masterclasses as gigs and doesn't specify any dates or venues for these. Also non-specific is the spelling of Freddy/Freddie which varies even on his official record - note the Freddy above whilst his biography is by Freddie

@YoungWillz David Edgerton died last month from your list above. Only mentioning that due to seeing Abi Ofarim marked but not him.

OK maybe I'm missing something, but if there is a pre-existing master list of people who .... I guess (given the thread title).... were people who were shockingly still alive, you can't UPDATE the list.  Everyone on it is KNOWN to be alive now.  SMFH

Edward de Bono (highly obitable) is 85 today. Didn't realise he was still around until I saw it mentioned in a paper.

Aye, what's yer point?

We all keep forgetting him and he's - metaphorically speaking - in that part of life that corresponds to way above 14,000 feet without oxygen and his broadsheet obits are likely written and ready. No sign of him in the DDP picks this year.

I have a hunch that won't be the case if he sees 2019
