People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive
Death Impends replied to Catherine's topic in DeathList Forum
I had pared through those charts in 2020/21 and during that time I found a music website ran by Gail Menefee's nephew that has an article on the Loreleis. The site is still being updated, so I'm inclined to assume Menefee still alive until he mentions otherwise. IDK if the same would apply to Reinagle. -
I should've spent more than a split second thinking there.

If you want perspective for how great a WTF still alive Duane Eddy was, the 60s radio host I listen to each morning likes to recount birthdays of living and dead. On Eddy's birthday a few days ago, he started saying "sadly this person is no longer with us", went into a talk about Duane Eddy's birthday, and didn't mention anyone who was actually dead at the time. An omen it turns out. RIP.

Assuming that's the latest ever swap of leads in a Cup round? I remember taking a late late lead with a US college football coach but even then that was with two days to go instead of a few hours.

I had a three day weekend which helped knock them out. My work from home job can mean projects anywhere, so I'm currently working for a Mississippi project. And yesterday was Confederate Memorial Day which is a day off there. Which is revolting that that's a holiday. But I am very much "enjoy the fact I had a day off first, ask questions later".

2022 was the longest lasting >1 hit/day before this year, slipping behind in mid April. But the latter months lagged enough that while it still set a new hits record, it only did so by the skin of its teeth. Whereas 2023 fell behind >1 hit/day much earlier but the year as a whole was far more consistent. Given we've kept up this rate despite the DL being so slow, I'd guess this year will glide past 300 fairly easily.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Yeah I tend to like the "the sane one corrals a zoo of nutters" structure. See my Muppets love -

Tubi (a free-with-ads movies/TV app I've used a shitton ever since I moved out) has a British TV section so I've watched the odd Britcom in recent months. Dad's Army hasn't cropped up on it yet, though I'd definitely check it should the opportunity arrive. I quite liked The Vicar of Dibley and Trevor Peacock's nonononononono. -
If she dies while I'm still hosting the DDP, I'm so using this scene from her Columbo ep as the image headliner: I'd be a bit surprised if I write her obit though, despite her grand age.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
Death Impends replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I removed the ban on the IP that I think was the root of your issue. It was one where an asterisk was used after the first five digits so that would've banned a wide range of IPs. Try again. -

There was no ban on you. Possible that your IP overlapped with one that we banned in the past? -
I'll just discretely sneak him into the 2023 LotM since it's more or less historical record. Whereas if he were picked this year he'd go on the 2024 LotL.

In most cases I'd like for Tories to STFU ASAP. But every time Truss is in the news is so hilarious I don't think I could get tired of it if I tried.

Authors Last A Long Time, But....
Death Impends replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Small world. I've seen her name at the bargain book kiosk at my local grocery store, and thought "wasn't she one of those past DDP cancer writers"! Probably me thinking of Sophie Sabbage or Sonia Kinsella (though the latter wasn't an author). -
I remember at one of those free book dumps in middle school George Burns's autobiography was there and I took it and read it because I was just getting really into centenarians. Definitely one of my Sulu-iest sentences ever. Weird you'd find George Burns's autobiography there in hindsight!
