This just in:

Yeltsin has check-up at German heart clinic

12:22 | 02/ 03/ 2006

BERLIN, March 2 (RIA Novosti, Olga Semenova) - Former Russian leader Boris Yeltsin has had a check-up at a German heart center, the clinic said Thursday.

"Yeltsin comes in for a check-up with Professor Roland Hetzer every year, following the 1996 operation on his aorta," a clinic representative said. He added that the results could not be disclosed, citing professional ethics.

"For his age, and taking into account his heart's workload, Yeltsin looks good. You should ask him how he feels, though."

Health problems dogged Yelstin throughout his second term in office, and he underwent major heart surgery in 1996. The former president celebrated his 75 birthday in February.

Not entirely sure what that means but I think he's trying to say the man's a wreck.

Gorby's had a few worries, largely down to being depressed when his wife offed this mortal coil sometime ago. Reckon he'll outlast Yeltsin though, another victory for open minded and progressive ideas over the limited dogma old style Soviet thinking.

BB, any chance you'd show us this 'proof' of Yeltsin's being really healthy?

Maybe this thread should be merged with the existing Yeltsin one,

http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?...l=boris+yeltsin

Or change the title of the thread to make it just about Gorbachev.

Is there anybody out there?

Your mighty cries echo empty through the abandoned halls of Deathlist Tempus Fugit.

The hero is alone.

Bringing back an ancient thread once started by me,

The vanishing of Boris Yeltzin from the list seemed to be the proper move since he

had recovered greatly. Although the list Tempus Fugit posted concerning his health problems

looked almost like something that would be put on Saterday Night Live. Never thought a single

person could have so many health issues besides Pope John Paul.

Well now that his troubles are running back to him he may be a winner for the 2006 list.

Coincedently i've always felt the same way.

Although Bou's avatar must really have a rich husband with a brilliant

occupation since she often has different pairs of diamond earings. ;)

Congratulations Boudicca.

You've posted 1000 times and we all have enjoyed your time here with us

Anyone is worth watching if we are to rely on vaugeries such as that. Before you start your watch, I suggest you get some more concrete sources/information before you possibly waste your time.

What shape is his drink addled successor in?

He's fit as a fiddle, even taking the time and energy to run a thread of his very own.

Check out the photo gallery (click on the picture of him) at this link. In either photo, it would be difficult for him to look more hammered.

Aye, but the man's profile - Yeltsin that is - is very low and he's had hip surgery after a fall. Gorby will see him out, surely.
