Dutch physicist Nico van Kampen died last Sunday, aged 92.

 

His main interest was in statistical mechanics and non-equilibrium thermodynamics.

Van Kampen was a nephew of Frits Zernike, (1953 Nobel prize in physics) and uncle of Gerard 't Hooft (1999 Nobel prize in physics).

 

No English language obit (yet), here's a Dutch one.
