Fat And Fearless

Patrick Moore is not exactly thin. And Ted Heath was quite a portly chap.

The King of Tonga is 87 and weighs 400lbs+.

It's a good job that non members can't post here anymore. Searching for "The King Of Tonga" on google

produces DeathList right at the top, complete with Joscos' comments about him been a fat old bugger. When he dies (The King of Tonga not Josco!) that would have ensures wave after wave of angry Polynesian ranters.

Luciano Pavarotti is about 350 lbs. I have not heard any recent news regarding his health, but his weight could cause some health issues in the not too distant future.

Pavarotti is 70 I believe and can no longer sing. He announced his retirement and then embarked on a world tour which appears to be going to last for several years and is sold out.

I'm told he sang at the opening of the Winter Olympics. Or at least mimed to a recording which he made about 20 years ago when he could still sing.

Who knows?

How about Helmut Kohl, the former German Chancellor (1982-1997).

My German Politics lecturer said the guy was about 20 stone (naturally I automatically thought of this thread). Anyway, he turns 76 this year.

Not sure if he is still fat though.

Guest Michele

FYI folks, Denny Welch passed away last month. I wonder if it was the Phen Phen... his heart was good until Springer's weight loss plan. Poor guy.

I think the next time I make a dead pool I'll try to find information on the world's great opera singers. I hadn't thought of them as a group, but surely it must be a hefty crowd.

Met a former opera singer when I worked at a psych hospital (which is why I can't name her, but take my word for it). She was all of 5'2" and pushing 200lbs at the ripe age of 91 and, unlike Luciano, she could still sing. That was 8 years ago though, so I doubt she's still alive and if so, she's very demented by now.

Now if you can find me a picture of an old, overweight opera singer with a bucket of fried chicken in each hand, I'd back him/her as a Dead Pool pick.

That'll be this chap then. Nine curries and 40 pints? I never understand how they can afford that sort of lifestyle, apart from anything else. You couldn't do it on disability benefit, surely?

Britain's fattest man decides to lose weight to show others the many dangers of obesity

Wouldn't dying be a better way to demonstrate this?

If he was on the list...

But for modern day life it is good to show others that you can overcome.

Great Britain's largest person is 700lbs? You have it good. A couple times a year, we'll have a story here in the states about some 1,000lb person who needs to needs to get to a hospital, but can't get through the door, so emergency services has to knock down a wall of their house and hoist them out using a crane. Welcome to the United States of McDonald's.

I think the dangers of obesity would be best displayed by airing this person's autopsy on television. I want to see that 8lb, black, fatty liver.
