musician & photographer Jeff Winterberg has a very rare form of brian cancer.

The mind boggles...... Could be worse, I suppose, could be Dwayne cancer...

Ha ha ha, just realised my spelling mistake.

Ryan Buell has pancreatic cancer. I've never heard of him, he is apparently in an American reality show called Paranormal State about ghostbusters or something, perhaps some of our foreign Johnny friends can advise if he's one to keep on the radar?

Paranormal State is a show on A&E that is one of many shows featuring 30-something dudes in black walking around creepy places at night with a camera and freaking out over the slightest of noises. Of these shows, Paranormal State is probably one of the least watched. But it's still big enough to guarantee an obituary in the United States.

I doubt he'll get an obituary anywhere in the UK besides the Daily Mail, but that's good enough to go on my DDP shortlist.

Thank you for that extra information. I may keep him on my radar.

In other news, Derek Acorah is a massive cunt.

He's gonna be keeping us all informed and up to date on his Facebook page, although if he's already walking with a cane and having kidney problems, this may be a moot point for 2013 picks.

Dont know if its been mentioned here or not, (can't be arsed trolling through the previous posts) musician & photographer Jeff Winterberg has a very rare form of brian cancer.

That sucks to hear. One of the groups he was in Antioch Arrow was one of the first few bands I ever saw in concert.

In view of the World's oldest living person, Besse Cooper due to have her 116th Birthday on the 26th August (according to Wiki)

I was wondering about the last person on the planet born in the 19th century to finally pass on.

I know it's not in the Death List Rules to have the death be the fact that makes the obits, however, with all of the top ten worlds oldest people been verified as been born between 1896 & 1899 the end is very close for that generation.

Something I think is worth a mention, especially as we are only in this position once every 100+ years, and that the information is out there for first time with our generation.

Perhaps we need a new thread...'The last Victorians'.

There are currently 43 people born in the Victorian era living today, Queen Victoria dying on 22/01/1901.

I would say so, she's had a long and eventful career grilling various US Presidents, would definitely get UK press coverage

US actress Evelyn Ward (89) is entering her ninth year of residential care for dementia and related issues. Low-profile for her work over here but likely to get some press coverage on death on account of being David Cassidy's mum.

I know he has been posted here before and i thought he had his own thread but turns out he doesn't not from my searches anyway but joost van der Westhuizen gave an interview, in the interview it said he appeared to have trouble speaking and being understood. Now with als Speech is usually the last thing to go , i think he is a good bet for 2013 i always thought 2012 was a bit premature to put him on my list.

Thought an active person like a rugby player might find it hard to cope with this disease and kill himself , I know i would in his position .Either that or the disease which usually takes 2 -5 years to kill 95% of its sufferers would rapidly kill him.

Can find no mention anywhere else of Meshulam Riklis (b. 1923), an Israeli-American billionaire who made his fortune as a corporate raider and was once married to B-list actress and singer Pia Zadora. Wouldn't lend this guy a fiver...

Do former Miss America's pull UK obits? Mary Ann Mobley. She is married to Garry Collins of US talk show and bad TV shows fame. I've been away for awhile and need to reaclimate to the UK bios. I think that she would get one because she was one of the last Miss America Dream stories who married an actor and had a nice life. I think Garry Collins would get a UK obit so maybe his Miss America wife would?

If they're married to someone internationally famous or have colourful private lives and generate a lot of press coverage then it's quite likely

US Senator Arlen Specter is in the hospital with a serious illness.

“I’m sorry I can’t provide any information to that effect, you’ll have to ask somebody else,” replied a woman who answered the phone at Specter’s office Monday when asked if she could confirm that Specter was in the hospital.

Probably not obit-worthy in the UK, but Paul Henderson (Canadian hockey hero from the Canada-Soviet summit series) has been battling a rare form of leukemia for quite some time.

Might well get an obit in the likes of the Indie and the Guardian

There was a picture of Dave Whelan (Chairman of Wigan Athletic b 1936) in my paper last night and I thought he was someone who is worthy of consideration. His apprarance reminded me a bit of Bob Paisley. Outside chance but probably not main list fodder.

I thought she died years ago, then I realised I was thinking about Molly Weir.
