Derby Dead Pool 2012

Recommended Posts

Where can I access the rules please? Just want to know what constitutes a celebrity and such...

A "hit" is one that has a mention of their death in a British national newspaper\website. It doesn't have to be a normal obituary write up. Reuters and of course the BBC are also acceptable. There's a precis of this on the List of the Lost page on the DDP website.

Famed ALS researcher and now victim Dr. Richard Olney has been dead since January 27th.

Teams "George Lass and the Gravelings" and "Toasted Brown Bread" both picked him, and will probably recieve zero points.

No obit, no points, no more poetry... :-(

Well spotted. When doing the pictures I found out that Finn Pedersen died in January...

Joe Scarpa and John McGrath need to be added to the List of the Lost, unless an obit is floating around somewhere.

Relevant pages updated. I knew about both and had updated my database but I often wait to see if there is an initial obit before putting on the LotL.

With Scarpa, I waited so long I forgot!

Two tiny things to fix:

1) A while back I complained that my theme team featured the killer of Jam Master Jay, not the baseball player Ronald Washington. You fixed that, but now the picture is of the wrong Ronald Washington.

2) The most recent update says Gibb is worth 6 pts. (12 for jokers). Gibb should be worth the same amount as al-Megrahi, as he was 62 not 82. As far as I can tell the scores are all right though, so it's only on the front page that's wrong.

Glad to see I'm now in the Top 20 :).

Well spotted! Well I was doing it at 00:30 hrs so maybe not in the best of form!

As for Washington, I noticed almost as soon as I posted it, as I'd forgot the context of that Ron Washington and who he was...

Also; here's a picture of Ronald Washington to use, if you can.

I can never find those pesky AP/Guardian obits. I search in the Guardian and there's nothing there. What's the secret?

And what are you speaking of, Spade. I don't understand. Tell Mr.Scream how you arrived and this conclusion.

Oh and the front page on the DDP looks fabulous. I've been meaning to say that, MIB.

I literally just searched "Peter Breck the guardian". I thought it was weird he didn't get a obit.
