Doubtless PB will be on with more details but...

Fort lost and Strathspey won; Fort have a superior goal difference to the other lot but sit rock bottom, three points in arrears to Strathspey and one point off the second bottom team

Normal service is resumed!!

And, as if by magic :-)

FORMARTINE UNITED 4 FORT WILLIAM 2

The Fort travelled to Pitmedden yesterday to face title chasing Formartine United looking to get their first points of the season.

The Fort took the initiative right from the start, and opened the scoring in only the third minute, through top scorer Scottie Davidson's third of the season.

This lead was to last for over half an hour before Stuart Anderson leveled for the home side.

With the sides level at the break, United took the lead just three minutes into the second half, through last season's Highland League Player Of The Year, Conor Gethins, and then on the hour mark, Scott Barbour made it 3-1.

But The Fort weren't finished yet.Summer signing Jack Lingard got his first goal for the club in the 78th minute to bring it back to 3-2!

But with The Fort pushing for an equaliser, Graeme Rodger broke forward in the 84th minute to seal the win for the home side and to secure all 3 points!

This was another encouraging performance from The Fort, and for the fourth time in 5 games, we have scored twice and still not got anything!

However, if these performances continue, then it is only a matter of time before the wins start coming!

The next couple of weeks are going to be massive with 3 of the next 4 games at home, starting with Clach at home on Wednesday night before we head to Grantown next Saturday to face Strathspey Thistle!

Aye, massive couple of games coming up - or is it just PB and me who see it that way?

Four points from the next two and we might cruise to the end of April, or summat.

So, PB was probably so devastated on Wednesday he couldn't bring himself to share the news of the 0-5 home spanking.

Does anyone know why today's match - and most of the Highland League - is showing everyone locked at 0-0 at full time?

Aye, well the BBC has a few proper scores in now and it's still showing that one as goalless at FT.

FFS, the uncertainty, it's ruined my whole weekend, when will this hell cease?

STRATHSPEY THISTLE 0 FORT WILLIAM 1

This was a day when the result was undoubtedly more important than the performance.

And luckily we were blessed with both.

The Fort had new keeper Colin MacRitchie in goal in place of the injured Dougie MacLennan, and Barna Tot and Colin MacLean also returned to the team.

The Fort took the lead in only the 8th minute. Great play by Colin MacLean down the right, and his ball into the box perfectly picked out Marty Munro, and he produced a composed near post finish to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

In the 25th min, an Iain MacLellan effort was cleared off the Thistle goal-line , and just 5 mins later, it took a great save from David Aitchison in the home goal to deny Colin MacLean doubling our lead.

10 mins later, and Aitchison did well again to deny Scottie Davidson'sbrilliant turn and shot.

Fort's debut keeper then produced a save of the season contender, when he did brilliantly to turn away Owen Cairn's excellent 25 yard effort. Thistle then came close again just mins later when ex-Fort striker Nick Stein then rattled the post from distance.

The Fort then proceeded to comfortably see out the final 20 mins of the game and secure their first points of the season!

So, first wooden spoon blood to the Fort, then.

Could be another great campaign, like the last one

Oops! Sorry, I should have posted this earlier after last weeks game.

FORT WILLIAM 3 WICK ACADEMY 8

Fort had high hopes of building on last week's excellent result at Strathspey, but a dreadful first half performance soon put paid to that!

Wick steamrollered The Fort in the opening 45 mins and went in 6-0 up at the break, through strikes from Gary Manson, Sam Mackay, Richard McAddie and a 15 min hat-trick from Steven Anderson.

After a half-time roasting from manager Ally Ewen, the home side came out like a team possessed in the second half!

Last week's natchwinner Marty Munro, scored for the second successive game, before a quick fire double from top scorer Scottie Davidson gave the home side a glimmer of home, before two late strikes from Davie Allan and Alan Farquhar made the final score 8-3 to the visitors.

Next up is a home game against Nairn County on Wednesday night.

I'll tell you what PB, I'm glad you're here cos - like - I'd feel like some meandering care in the community job if you weren't.

We can say what we like about all the other crazies hereabouts when we're on this thread, they'll never know

WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP

1st round

FORT WILLIAM 1 BRORA RANGERS 4

SO NEAR YET SO FAR...

This game only went ahead due to an awful lot of hard work by the FWFC ground staff, who worked tirelessly to keep the pitch clear of water!

The Fort came out of the blocks, all guns firing, and could have been ahead in only the first minute, had it not been for a brilliant save from Rangers keeper Joe Malin to deny Marty Munro.

Ten minutes later and it took an excellent goal-line clearance from Colin Williamson to deny Jack Lingard.

Home keeper David Harrison then proceeded to produce a magnificent save to deny Steven Mackay and keep the scores level.

Then on the half hour mark Claggan Park erupted! Good play by Colin MacLean down the left, his ball into the box, was knocked down into the path of DANNY HIGHET and he fired home to make it Fort William 1 Brora 0.

Despite The Fort being one up at the interval, it was our failure to get that crucial second goal when on top, that was going to come back and punish us.

Brora came at us straight from the start of the second half, and goals from Zander Sutherland, Steven Ross and a double from Craig Campbell, ensured that it was the Sutherland side who progress to the next round!

FORT WILLIAM 3 TURRIFF UNITED 2

What a brilliant performance from The Fort and they thoroughly deserved the three points, and at the end of the day the scoreline flattered the visitors!

The Fort opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Wednesday night's man of the match, GLENN FELL picked up the ball on the halfway line, drove forward before cutting into the box and clipping the ball over the advancing Aaron Sherman for his second goal in two games.

The Fort doubled their lead just two minutes into the second half through another stunning finish from top scorer SCOTTIE DAVIDSON for his eighth goal of the season.

Turriff pulled one back in the 77th minute through captain Cameron Bowden's powerful header.

But just 60 seconds later The Fort restored their two goal advantage, and it came from the most unlikeliest of sources!

Captain IAIN FOGGO was in the right place at the right time to fire home what proved to be the winner...and his first ever goal at Claggan Park.

Bowden got his second of the afternoon in the 90th minute to make it 3-2, but the Fort held on to register a very impressive victory!

Up next is a trip to Lossiemouth next Saturday.
