    Ironic Deaths

I'm trying to find a source on this one, as it was a few years ago, but there was a young adult in the US who quite fits the ironic death. He was very much anti-seatbelt, and wrote a rather long article for his local newspaper about how laws requiring the use of seatbelts in moving vehicles were an infringement of his rights. He died in a car crash. There were several other people in the vehicle, all of whom walked away with only minor injuries. They were wearing seatbelts. He wasn't, because it was a violation of his rights. He was flung from the vehicle and killed. Oops?

    The Ides Of March

Actually, quite a lot of famous folk have toddled off on the ides. I remember Thora Herd being mentioned over in the LotSW thread. She died on March 15th. So did H.P. Lovecraft, Aristotle Onassis, Benjamin Spock and Duncan Hines. Also! On the Roman calander, the ides was the 15th of March, May, July and October, and the 13th of the other months. The kalends was the first of each month and the nones was the 7th of March, May, July and October and the 5th in all other months. The rest of the days weren't named. They'd count forward or back for the rest of the days.
  4. Well. I know I'm new around here, but allow me to serenade (and I use that term loosely) you with a little Newfoundland ditty: "May you live a hundred years May you drink a million beers Get plastered you.. *ahem* May you live a hundred years!"

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Sort of a long shot, but Valentina Tereshkova is starting to get up there in years. She's still fairly active, and no health issues that I've been able to dreg up, but one never knows.

    Slobodan Milosevic

I think it is a real shame that Milosevic has died. Now, I must say that I am no fan of the man, not even a little. The shame here is that without a real conclusion to the trial, it leaves a lot of other things in limbo. A good, solid conviction of Milosevic could have opened the doors to getting a lot of people below him tossed in the can too. Without that keystone trial, that becomes exceptionally unlikely.

In addition, most places that I've looked have mentioned the tumour as having been benign, not cancerous.
