Tiger Woods arrested for a DUI. Seems to be going down the drunk and problematic athlete route. Should definitely keep an eye on him.

He claims it was due to prescription medication. He looks dreadful though. Not exactly a picture of a fit champion athlete:

Yes just seen that - hilarious.

His tests for alcohol showed zero so his state was caused by something else he took.

Lucky he just fell asleep and didn't crash into something.

Something else is medication for a back problem, apparently.

The upcoming Open Championship and the announcement of Seve’s long overdue retirement led me to wonder what old golfers are still out on the course but trudging towards the great clubhouse in the sky. The DL has a half decent record with golfers in past years (Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson) and while most of the game’s legends are either gone or not old enough (Nicklaus, Palmer, Player), there are currently, to the best of my knowledge, just 7 men who have won a Major still alive at 80+. No idea how their health is, but step forward:

Tommy Bolt, 89

Kel Nagle, 86

Doug Ford, 85

Jack Fleck, 85

Jack Burke, 84

Roberto de Vicenzo, 84

Bob Rosberg, 80

None would be famous enough for the DL, but might be a consideration for other pools.

Now now, don't all run at once to get involved in such a blockbuster of a thread...

From the opening post, Roberto De Vicenzo has died aged 94. https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.clarin.com%2Fdeportes%2Fpolideportivo%2Fmurio-roberto-vicenzo-gloria-deporte-argentino_0_S1nlcpTWZ.html&edit-text

DDP Pick.

Tiger breathalyser test

The funniest bit is about 9 minutes in when they have confirmed he has zero alcohol and they say they are going to do a urine test.

Woods is handcuffed so he asks 'How am I going to hold it?'

Former Ryder Cup golfer Tommy Horton has died at the age of 76.  Horton, who lived in Jersey, played for Great Britain and Ireland in the 1975 and 1977 Ryder Cups - both of which were won by the United States.  He also won four European Tour events and 23 events on the European Seniors Tour - topping its money list in 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999.

He was taken ill at the Royal Jersey Golf Club on Thursday and died shortly after in hospital.

A DDP pick, as well

My sixth hit for my main team, now officially improved year on year.

It's sad news, one of the greats. I think it was me last year who pointed out he hadn't been well, courtesy of Peter Alliss' commentary during one of the Majors. Edit: Here is the post:

I'll take the Express Obit: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/976776/Peter-Thomson-British-Open-golfing-champion-five-times-dead-88-Parkinson-s-disease

Mark Hayes at 69.

With Green and Tommy Horton (who died in December), that's 3 of the top 12 from the Duel in the Sun dead in the last 7 months.

Trevino and Ray Floyd must be shitting it.

Bruce Lietzke, DDP pick, loses fight against brain cancer aged 67. Was a member of the US's 81 Ryder Cup-winning team, so an obit should be along asap.
