Giuliano Sarti, two-time European Cup winner who never really got a proper chance in the Italian national team due a surfeit of great goalkeepers during the 60s, dead at 83

Charon will be along in a minute to tell us about a game he lost.

Former Malaysia and Vietnam national team head coach Karl-Heinz Weigang has died at the age of 81. The German coach passed away in his home country after suffering a heart attack.

Weigang was perhaps best-known in Malaysia for guiding the national team to the 1980 Olympics Games. However, Malaysia boycotted the multi-sport event altogether.

Peter Lorimer, looked terrible at the Sutton vs Leeds game, didn't even realise it was him at first and the result won't have helped either.

Well observed - Peter Lorimer rushed to hospital with brain cancer.

Tony DiCiccio, one-time US international but more notable for being the manager of the women's US team when they won the World Cup in 1999 and it briefly looked like women's football might become relevant, dead at 68

José Manuel Mourinho Félix, footballer and father of José Mourinho, dead at 79.

DDP pick for Diana Rots, so I'm guessing he was picked by a contender last year.

Edit: Yup, Poochie had him for 2016. Typical Diana Rots.

Just searched for "Diana" on the DDP teams page to rejig myself on who else they had (or well, stole) and finally got what the pun in their name was.

Have a very strong feeling the Diana Rots team is well known to us on here.

Wait, there was a pun in Diana Rots name? Shows how cultured I am...

In fairness, it took me someone else (think it was Spade?) mentioning the name was a pun some months ago for me to catch on myself.

I bet Diana Rots' picks 17-20 were my non-obit Jackie Storrar and three non-obiting Shameless folks.

David Duckenfield forgetting to take his medicine and dropping dead of a heart attack within six months is a guarantee, let's be honest.

Always forget Graham Kelly is still alive tbh, mainly because I can never remember when Bert Millichip actually carked it.

Duckenfield charged with manslaughter, so time for him to forget his medicine, I guess.

Fascinating article on former France U21 star Stéphane Paille, who died last week aged 52. One of French football's great "lost" talents.

Funnily enough I was reading a few bits and bobs about legendary hellraiser/sublime talent Robin Friday the other day...

So he's not going to die because...

1 - He's healthy (you were just drawing our attention to a new job)

2 - Eternal life beckons
